“Small room but great location.”

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and i really enjoyed it. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I stayed in a room on the first floor. It was a very small room but this was what i was expecting when i accounted for other reviews and generally what i expected from Paris. The room was very clean. My room was located on the side of the little street that the hotel entrance is off and directly opposite the little cafe. In the evening there are a lot of people outside the cafe so you might find it a little noisy. The cafe plays live music and because i was so close i could hear it loud and clear. I actually really enjoyed this but some people may not.

The hotel was located right near Grand Boulevards metro station but is walking distance to Notre Dame (about 20 minutes), Marais and the Louvre. There are lots of nice restaraunts and shops near it. I was travelling by myself and felt safe in the area. I did catch taxis back to the hotel late at night but generally it was fine.

One thing i was disappointed in was that the breakfast was the same everyday. A croissant, baguette and cheese. This would be fine for the first couple of days but if you do plan on staying longer you might find that you want to explore other breakfast options.

When we walked into the hotel we were greeted a very friendly desk staff he had us checked in and in our rooms very quickly. The clerks recommendation for a place to eat dinner was right on. The rooms were small but adequate private bathroom and nice big windows that opened to let in the fresh air. All in all for the price it was a great base camp to explore Paris. A note the Night clerk was a bit grumpy but other then that took care of our needs. Our stay was very enjoyable and I would come here again next time I visit Paris.

“Small rooms, excellent staff & location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

We stayed here for 4 nights having taken into account the other reviews. It is superbly situated within minutes of Grands Boulevard Metro station, 25 minutes walk to Sacre Couer or the Louvre in a small cul-de-sac. On arrival the receptionist (Marie) was very friendly and helpful, the room on the fourth floor was small but clean. During the first night the cafe/bar across the road was quite noisy until around 2am which affected our sleep. In the morning I asked Marie for a change of room which was arranged, and our luggage moved, during the day. She said that she was suprised that the night receptionist hadn't called the Police and was exceptionally apologetic. The second room was marginally larger, still on the 4th Floor, and at the rear of the building. The subsequent nights were far better and the noisy bar was quite after 1130 ish anyway.
Our deal included breakfast which was basic but fresh and again the service was very good. Aside from the friendliness and helpfulness from Marie, the other receptionists and staff were also very good aside from 1 person who, whilst polite, wasn't as enthusiastic as the others. It isn't the cheapest hotel that we found however Paris seems expensive for accomodation.
We would stay here again as the size isn't a big issue as we spend most of our time out and about. Loads of cafes/restaurants locally as well!

“Too small rooms for the price”

All in all, a mixed experience:
- positive: staff extremely friendly, location (central, close to Grands Boulevards and Grands Magasins) and cleanliness
- negative: the rooms are EXTREMELY small (room and bathroom + view on an airshaft), and even if yes, this is the standard in Paris, I have been in hotels for less money with bigger rooms. Breakfast also totally ordinary.
So I would recommend other hotels for Paris (see my other reviews).

My daughter and I stayed here for one night, Our room on the first floor was really small but clean,The beds were comfortable, The staff were friendly, We got a map of Paris as soon as we arrived at the front desk which is quite handy, She also circle the places we like to visit on the map for us. We enjoyed our stay because of the location and the lovely staff.
