We had a beautiful time recently in Paris. Hotel wonderful, staff very nice and helpful and fantastic location. Could not wish for a better area to stay so accessible for restaurants, bars and sightseeing. Hotel was very quaint, lovely rooms and very clean. Staff could not be nicer.We will certainly return next year.

This hotel has everything I look for, great location, good value, friendly staff. My wife and I were actually expecting to be in another Best Wesern Hotel in the St. Germain area, and were skeptical about being in a hotel other than the one we were expecting. We were very pleased at the welcome from the staff and the comfortable lobby. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Paris hotels have small rooms, and although ours was small, it was larger than we expected and very comfortable. Our room had air conditioning, large shower & bath, and no street noise. The single elevator is small and slow which is my only complaint. If you have trouble climbing stairs, I recommend a room on a lower floor. The hotel rate was lower than others in the area making it a good value. We decided not to add the breakfast as the hotel is right in the heart of several cafés, restaurants, and bars which offer a fantastic choice of dining options. Easy access to the metro and tourist attractions is a plus.

We just returned from a great trip to Paris and Provence. While in Paris, we stayed at the Hotel L'univers, located on St Gregorie De Tours ( 6th arrs.). It was lovely. Very clean , updated, we had a nice size bath with marble and large tub and sink. room was small, but nicely decorated with french decor! windows are sound proofed, which is needed as the hotel is on a busy small street with lots of cafes! And the have great mattresses!

Hotel is off the busy St. Germain Blvd. Close enough to walk to the Seine & Notre Dam, St Michel, Cafe deux Margot. A Taxi stand is 2 small blocks up. The Hop on Hop off bus/orange line stops on St Germain Blvd also..5-10 min walk from hotel.

Oh..and there is a beautiful red carpeted spiral staircase from the lobby- but a small lift/elevator is available. ( and not too confining!):)

Our room ran about 130 euro. they have a real nice breakfast for 10e- located in a lovely wine cellar.

Don't hesitate to book.. it's real nice! ( but the streets of Paris are very!! hectic)

The room was tiny. The price was good. The desk staff were BEYOND excellent. The location was super duper great. Right in the heart of everything. Close to subways. Close to major tourist attractions. Close to pubs. Close to great food. And yet quiet at night. Clean. Quiet. OLD but not in the "oh dear this is old" but in the "wow this has great character" old. Bathroom was good, new, clean. Internet worked perfect. Was never too hot or too cold in the room - just right. There is a breakfast downstairs but we never ate it for two reasons: 1) we often slept in and 2) there was such wonderful food all around us we had to try it while we were there.

Maybe a Negative: There isn't a room for luggage for after you've checked out of your room but before you leave the city. They just "leave it over there", ie around the corner from the front desk, kinda in eyesight of the front desk but just randomly by a never used bar and overused/old-looking chesterfield. Ours was safe and never touched but being a nervous nelly about that sort of thing, I was a tad leary. No one else seemed to have a problem with it though.

Tip: Hard to find originally. We walked by...and by...and by...and so did locals we asked. VERY SMALL SIGN. Use a map, every time.
