I chose this hotel based on a recommendation by my aunt and I was very happy with it. Honestly, I cannot imagine better value in Paris. I stayed in the least expensive room in the hotel - a single room for 45 euros a night - and there is just no way that for the same price you could find another room of that quality in Paris. The bed was comfortable; there was even a small TV; there was a useful washbasin; and even though the toilets were shared, they were right beside the room and they were never occupied when I needed them. The location is great for normal Paris sightseeing stuff, especially with the métro right there. If you want to do late-night clubbing, it isn't the best location, but still isn't bad.
The one thing I would like them to change about this hotel is their policy of leaving the key at the reception. Every time you leave the hotel, you need to leave the key, and then request it when you come back. This isn't very convenient as sometimes you have to wait at the reception for them to give you the key. I also don't like this because they seem to control very strictly if you are allowed to bring visitors into the room with you. I mean, this is Paris, the 'city of love', and I don't think that the hotel should restrict you from bringing new friends/lovers to the room if you so happen to meet any :-) -- I mean, you are paying for the room, it doesn't cost them anything for you to bring a visitor to it, and from what I was told, they do restrict visitors with their current policy. This is probably the first hotel I've ever stayed at with such a policy.
Other than that, thumbs up for the hotel -- terrific service; great rooms for the price, and very nice location. I do think they should change their key policy though.
