Our family spent 12 days in December in Paris, staying the entire time at the Fleurie. The location was terrific, the accommodations were more than adequate and the daytime staff were always helpful with directions, restaurants and touring questions.
My husband and I had the deluxe king room which was comfortable and large enough for a king bed, chair, desk, dresser and armoire. Two teen age boys, 13 and 16 shared a deluxe with two twin beds, which was the same size of the King deluxe. Two other adults each had a single room which was small, although it is only for one person! Everything was very clean, and towels and linens were replaced daily. The only issue we had with the room was with the shower, which had a partial glass window. Everytime the shower was used we needed extra towels to dry the water that got on the floor. Not sure why the shower door didn't go further down the tub...
The staff during the day spoke English and were very helpful with all our Paris questions including specific directions to places using the Metro maps! We took advantage of breakfast in the hotel which worked well for our group of 6. The french bread and croissants were plentiful and there was always yogurt, cheese, nutella, coffee and milk. While there is not restaurant or bar in the hotel, there is a nespresso machine in the lobby area (for 1 euro) and cookies always available. Additionally, there are many small stores, restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walking radius of the hotel. The area is very safe and busy, less than a quarter block from St. Germaine. We felt very secure sending our two teenage boys out for chocolate and candy at midnight with no problem.
The only thing we were not happy about was was scaffolding outside of our windows and the painting. Our rooms always had a paint smell. Because we were gone most of the day, it didn't
bother us too much. We did have trouble regulating the heat at night. We would have to open the windows to get rid of the paint smell and wake up in the middle of the night to close the windows because it got too cold in the room!
If you plan on spending time in the hotel, I would check if the outside work is completed!
We definitely recommend Hotel de Fleurie and hope to back there soon on our next visit to Paris.
