“Lovely Hotel on Left Bank”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Our family spent 12 days in December in Paris, staying the entire time at the Fleurie. The location was terrific, the accommodations were more than adequate and the daytime staff were always helpful with directions, restaurants and touring questions.
My husband and I had the deluxe king room which was comfortable and large enough for a king bed, chair, desk, dresser and armoire. Two teen age boys, 13 and 16 shared a deluxe with two twin beds, which was the same size of the King deluxe. Two other adults each had a single room which was small, although it is only for one person! Everything was very clean, and towels and linens were replaced daily. The only issue we had with the room was with the shower, which had a partial glass window. Everytime the shower was used we needed extra towels to dry the water that got on the floor. Not sure why the shower door didn't go further down the tub...
The staff during the day spoke English and were very helpful with all our Paris questions including specific directions to places using the Metro maps! We took advantage of breakfast in the hotel which worked well for our group of 6. The french bread and croissants were plentiful and there was always yogurt, cheese, nutella, coffee and milk. While there is not restaurant or bar in the hotel, there is a nespresso machine in the lobby area (for 1 euro) and cookies always available. Additionally, there are many small stores, restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walking radius of the hotel. The area is very safe and busy, less than a quarter block from St. Germaine. We felt very secure sending our two teenage boys out for chocolate and candy at midnight with no problem.
The only thing we were not happy about was was scaffolding outside of our windows and the painting. Our rooms always had a paint smell. Because we were gone most of the day, it didn't
bother us too much. We did have trouble regulating the heat at night. We would have to open the windows to get rid of the paint smell and wake up in the middle of the night to close the windows because it got too cold in the room!
If you plan on spending time in the hotel, I would check if the outside work is completed!
We definitely recommend Hotel de Fleurie and hope to back there soon on our next visit to Paris.

Room Tip: Ask to be on a high floor. There is a bar next door which tends to be noisy at night.

“Nice but not so clean room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The location is great, and the size and look of the room was nice. Unfortunately it was not as clean as expected. The sheets and blankets were really old and especially the sheet in my bed was disgusting, with stains and hair (!) on it. Dental floss in the bathtub.. The carpets could also need to be cleaned. We had booked a superior room with certain room facilities, but there were no slippers, trouser press etc as described. The staff was nice, and we did get new sheets (also with stains on them... even though I was told this had never happened before). Maybe we just had bad luck with our room...

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

I've stayed at this hotel for the past three years. Its a small hotel with small rooms, but perfect for our girls trip. The location is great - on the left bank in the 6th, right of St Germain de Pres. The rooms are small, but fine for just me. I have never had any issues with the cleaniness. I do wish they had a bar or bigger lounge, but there are so many cafes and restaurants nearby, its really not a big deal.

“This is how the Grinch stole Christmas - Don't give this hotel your money!”

I am a world traveler and live in Vietnam. I have traveled to Paris many many times. The French have never offended me until a regretful booking with this hotel. I would love to provide details of my story but I think I need to get to the point and provide helpful information and a glimpse at who is behind the scenes at this corrupt business. Do not book this hotel if you think there is any chance at all that you could get fall ill and you just may need to alter your reservation. Do not even think about staying at this hotel if you want to feel that if a situation arises and you need the skills of a hotel manager or owner to help you through it. This is an example of a business that is so desperate for business they forget why they need satisfied customers! THere is nothing worse than giving money to a grinch. Christmas is not ruined by this hotel experience but it sure is a painful reminder of the existence of bad business ethics, poor service and ugly character. Don't let them get away with it, chose from the hundreds of other hotels in the St. Germain district!

Room Tip: The only good room is found at a nearby hotel.

“This is hotel should be closed!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Fleurie with our 2 children ages, 11 and 17 years. I would NOT recommend this hotel. There are so many reasons for our overall dissatisfaction with this hotel that I will just list them...
1) Linens are old- sheets and blankets look they haven't been replaced in at least 15 years. One would expect nice duvets in a European hotel at this price level
2) Towels are old, ratty and nonabsorbent
3) Rooms are TINY, carpet is old and worn, lighting is terrible
4) Internet is archaic and almost like dial up service, incredibly slow. You have to constantly ask for a new code at the desk and the personnel are not very generous on giving you extra codes- we have iPhones, iPads and laptops and they simply did not want to let us to use all of our devices. Wow.
5) Renovations going on WHILE we were there. Scaffolding on the windows, men outside our room at 8am chipping at paint and smoking only to return one day and find that they had painted the windows and taped them with a sign asking us not to open the windows. The rooms smelled like paint for days. Who does renovations while guests are at the hotel??
6) We did complain enough so that we got a 10% discount, wow.
7) At night there is one person working the desk and they are NOT friendly nor are they "allowed" to leave the desk to get a cot from the basement for us. Our oldest daughter is studying in Paris and wanted to spend the night with her sisters in their rooms- my husband actually "snuck" into the basement and brought the cot up to their tiny room.
8) The hotel actually has a sign asking it's paying customers not to bring hot beverages to their rooms! I have never heard of this, ever. Of course we did not "obey" the rule and fortunately they did not say anything as we walked past the desk every morning with our Starbucks. I can only imagine our response had they made a comment!
9) Hotel breakfast of cereal and stale croissants cost $22 per person. Granted Paris is expensive but at least the food is wonderful and the bakeries have phenomenal breads, etc. There is no reason for such poor quality of food. Needless to say, we never ate breakfast at the hotel.
10) The only saving grace to the hotel is that it is in an excellent location...but this is also a negative because their windows and walls are so thin that it is very loud.

There are so many other hotels in the area....Hotel Buci for one looks awesome as does Hotel Christine. Of course there were full when we booked our rooms. In the future I will stay anywhere BUT the Fleurie and would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

Room Tip: If you are desperate to stay here then ask for a Super deluxe room, but don't expect much

In response to your opinion:

First of all your opinion is excessive, please find here reasons:

1) Hotel de Fleurie is well maintained : carpets, linen and towels changed regularly and maintained
2) Bread and croissants come from from the bakery "Mulot" ( well known in Paris and whose quality is not implicated )
3) renovations during the period of 5 to 23 December 2011 is now complete ( this is also proof that we mantain our hotel ! )
4) During this time you received a special rate and to apologize for inconvenience you have had a 10% discount more. (sorry but we could not offer the stay )
5) the Internet is free and access is unlimited

We are sorry that your stay is as gone wrong but we are listening to our cients and despite your experience we can write that your opinion does not reflect reality.
