“Good location but grotty hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

This hotel really couldn't be better placed in terms of location, but the hotel really could have been better. Rooms were just wierd. Bathrooms very out dated and a bit grotty around the edges. Bed was quite comfy but bed linen didn't seem to fit. The most depressing thing was the outlook of the room we were in - the back of some ugly buildings with the smell of cooking fat wafting around. Breakfast was ok and the downstairs was quite charming, but the rooms were small, unattractive and very outdated. This was not a hidden gem, in fact I wish we had forked out some more cash - you get what you pay for here.

“Sweet Hotel, Good location but too expensive!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

I stayed here for 2 Nights with my boyfriend for a short weekend. The Location good and service was very friendly however i think we must have landed with the smallest room because it was tiny along with a tiny bathroom! But it didn't matter much as we were spending most time out and about. The breakfast was good and generally the whole appearance of the Hotel was really pretty and sweet however i think it was very expensive taking everything in mind.

“Location is perfect”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

Just returned from a two night stay at this hotel - I went with three friends

The location is excellent and I also found the staff friendly and helpful - while breakfast was fine.

The hotel was clean and we were given clean towels and sheets every day

However - it isn't the sort of hotel to go to if you are celebrating a special occasion or want a romantic break!

The rooms were small and rather tired looking. We had various problems such as broken doors and air-conditioning-heating not working. Our room was also noisy at all times from water pipes creaking.

But it was an ok stay - if you are just there for a couple of days - it is probably worth suffering these small problems because of the benefits of a great location. Anything else in the vicinity would cost 3 times the price

“Good location,poor hotel”

Spent five days in Paris with four nights at this hotel. First impressions of the reception were OK, even though the room was not ready. Had to walk up the stairs as the lift was too small. (Only big enough for two persons or one person and a suitcase). Stayed in room 10 and was amazed at how small it was. The decoration was tired with worn carpets covered over with rugs with curled edges. The bathroom was dirty. There was thick dust on the built in hair dryer and the area around the toilet obviously hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time. There was grout missing from the tiles and some were loose. There were a strange arrangement of badly fitting doors in the bathroom. Our window looked out onto a courtyard full of air conditioning units. The walls of the room were so thin we could hear the people in room 11 using their toilet. We were kept awake at night by the lift. Awful. The breakfast room was very small and the continental breakfast was basic. I know it is only a three star hotel and it is in the centre of Paris but we did expect a bit more and were disappointed. Worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
We took this hotel on a package but I saw at reception they were charging 200 euros a night for this room. Having said this the bed sheets and towels were changed daily. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel. The location cannot be faulted. Only five minutes from Rue de Rivoli and the Louvre.

“it was just okay....a big disappointment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

We made reservations for this hotel seven months in advance. When we arrived we were told we could not stay there because there was a "water problem." We had arranged for 3 rooms and I find it hard to believe that ALL of our rooms had a water problem. The put us up in neighboring hotels for one night and paid our cab fair plus breakfast the next morning. We learned AFTER we checked out they would have paid for breakfast all three days. We asked them to arrange for a private driver for two hours which they did and it turned out well. We also asked for them to arrange for a cab to take us to the airport which they did but they got to keep nearly half of the money and when we got to the airport the driver asked for more than the arranged for fee.
