I know European hotels are small. It wasn't about that. Shower was tiny and you coulnd't shower without bumping into the flimsy dirty shower curtain and the shower head was broken so you had to hold onto it while trying to shower and avoid touching the curtain. There was absolutely no power outlet available to use. It was dark. Could barely walk around the room.

Do not stay at this hotel at any cost.
Very dirty, tiny rooms, broken furniture, uncleaned bathroom, terrible service at the front desk, loose electric sockets, windows that don't shut (noisy), dodgy looking stains on carpet , smell of urine everywhere ....... Need I say more . I would rather sleep in a doorway than stay in this slum again.

I don't see why some people gave this place a bad rep! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We arrived late at night 11pm and just as advertised, the reception was 24hour. The room itself was very clean.. a lot cleaner than some places I've stayed in. A maid service replaced towels and made the beds everyday, the water for the shower was hot. The view from our room was lovely - we could see the Eiffel Tower. The staff were friendly. The location perfect - 10 mins walk to Eiffel Tower, Metro Dupleix right outside to connect you to the rest of the city. The Brasserie next door was very welcoming - escargot highly recommended. Rue de Lourmel itself was lovely - very Parisian, with a 'fromager' selling local cheeses, a 'boulangerie' with beautiful sandwiches and croissants, wine shops, and there is even a local supermarket close by which sells nice French red wine for very cheap - we got a couple of bottles and drank them while watching the lights on the Eiffel Tower before going out to eat to save a bit of cash. The place is also environmentally friendly - the lights in the hallway timeout so they are not on all the time. So do not think that the bulbs have gone in the hallways. I honestly can not think of one bad thing to say about this place.

We didn't actually book this hotel, we originally booked Eiffel Villa Garibaldi but when we arrived they didn't have a room (refurbishing, bed not delivered) and had re-booked us (without our knowledge) here. We were assured it was a lot better hotel and a lot closer to the Eiffel Tower.
I can only assume the rooms in our original hotel were so bad that they made this hotel look good but we didn't check. The room here was incredibly small, no aircon, furnishing was from the late 70s early 80s. It did have a flat screen TV and we did find CNN (the only English channel), but otherwise the room had no other amenities (such as a kettle, fridge etc.).
Bed sheets were not changed the whole time we were staying (4 nights) and had holes in them, but seemed to be clean.
Didn't try the breakfast in the dingy room on the ground floor (8 euros!).
Location was next to Dupreix Metro (line 6) which was fine to get to the Arc De Triomphe. About 20 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower.
Wouldn't recommend nor stay again.
