I stayed here already twice when vissiting Paris ,it's a great hotel with frienly staff.
The location is just perfect close to everything.
Across the hotel you have the most wonderfull pub in Paris,the New York Harries bar
make sure you visit it ,time stood still inthere.

I had booked a transfer fron CDG to the hotel with Paris Shuttle. Flight was delayed by 2 hours but reception was relaxed about lateness. I had a torch, having been warned in reviews, which was useful when finding Room 503 the first time. The room was at the back and quiet. the heating was on - if anything too warm - but the windows opened. The bathroom was not as small as I expected and was spotless. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The breakfast was fine; lots of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, good coffee, lots of choices of breads, baguette, croissants etc plus cheeses, ham and salami, fruit juices etc. Everybody on reception was pleasantand helpful. The location is great too. I would go back there in future. Can't think of anything to complain about at all. I had a very good rate including breakfast. Use a range of searches etc on the internet to find the best deal.

The location of Hotel Daunou is good, very close to the metro stop at L'Opera. The hotel gives a decent breakfast each morning, which you have to pay for, and there is free internet access in the breakfast room. There was a good bath in our ensuite. For entertainment there were only two TV channels in English so we watched a lot of BBC news which grew tiresome after a couple of days. The leg fell off my bed three times and we did not get any assistance to have it fixed until we propped the bed up with a duvet overnight. Not much assistance from the reception staff either for booking tickets or tours. They only seem to collect room keys and book taxis. The hotel overall felt a bit shabby and in need of renovation. There are a number of restaurants and cafes nearby, including an Italian restaurant right next door which does good food with fast service.

Spent 5 nights here with several colleagues, my room at the back was quiet though those close to the street were less so. The location is great, bus to CdG is a 5 minute walk away (takes about 40 min), Metro even closer: we commuted to our conference at La Defence daily which took about 30 minutes each way but these beats staying in the concrete jungle anytime. The Louvre is a short walk, Musee D'Orsay, Rive Gauche restaurants, Place d'Etoile all an easy stroll. My room by Parisian standards was relatively large, good WiFi was free, continental breakfast with plenty of newspapers, service always pleasant and helpful. Only hesitation is that the bag storage is not secure, its in a basement room- OK for a suitcase but I didnt want to leave my PC, Ipod etc there. I come to Paris several times a year but had forgotten what a great location the Opera is, would have no hesitation booking this one again.
