Just returned from 4 days in Paris, and for once the Hotel exceeded expectations. This was our first time at the Hotel Regina, but will not be the last.
The hotel oozes character and all the charm of a bygone era. Despite only booking a standard double room, we had a huge room by Paris standards, light, with high ceilings, and a good sized bathroom. Double doors opened out onto a small Juliette balcony with views over the Jardin des Tuileries and the Eiffel Tower.
All that and a great location right on the Rue de Rivolli and 2 minutes from the Metro. The Opera with all its shops, bars and restaurants is a short stroll away, and there are plenty of cafes if you want to eat breakfast out, or just enjoy a coffee and people watching.
The only negative would be that the heating in the room was impossible to control. Yes it was the middle of winter, and snow was on the ground, but we ended up having to open up the window every hour just to let some cold air in.
Still it is a small price to pay for staying in such a lovely hotel.
