“let's call it....a small cosy nest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

When one goes to Paris he already knows it’s hard to get a good hotel, centrally located, at a reasonable price. If you don’t mind sleeping in a tiny room, that has anyway everything you need, this is possibly one good choice combining the most convenient location and reasonable pricing.
Hotel has been probably made out of a very old building, nestled between two others, and from the narrow façade you can already imagine the size the room will have.
When you step inside all common areas are modernly furnished and décor is morbid and cosy. We visited during a very cold winter so when you step back in it’s always nice to enjoy a hot tea in front of a warm fireplace (a gas-powered one).
Pros:
- Location, location, location. If you Land in Charles de Gaulle airport you take the RER B to Chatelet, then switch and take metro number 1, and hotel is just one stop away and 30 seconds from the subway station. Furthermore it is not facing the trafficked Rue de Rivoli but the quiet Rue St. Honoré. My room was facing an inner courtyard, meaning I had a good silent undisturbed sleep at night. As the name states, the hotel is just opposite the Louvre Museum and 10 minutes from Notre Dame. You also get a pretty good choice of restaurants nearby which are not too expensive and cater also for locals and not just tourists. I will recommend a couple: Pizza Oskian has good pizza (and I’m Italian I can tell!) and is reasonably priced offering full meals from 15 to 19 euros including dessert. In the evening I recommend the tiny “Le Petit Machon”. Specialties from Lyon and lovely atmosphere.
- Hotel is clean, staff is helpful, room was Ok and had all amenities. Internet is WIFI-FI and offered free of charge throughout your stay. Hotel is silent which means you can rest and sleep well. I was sleeping on the 4th floor and there was only one other room except mine.
Cons:
- Classic room is very tiny. Even though it is very nicely furnished and décor is also original two people will need to move one at a time or you will bump against each other! Being alone I had nothing to complain. It’s true they have bigger deluxe rooms, 10 square meters more spacious, but you must be willing to pay much more to get one. Bathroom was also small but clean and you get only a shower, not a bathtub (which was fine with me). You get Lanvin amenities in the bathroom.
- No complimentary tea and coffee and no complimentary bottle of water.
- When we arrived at the hotel the man at the reception was on lunch break. I find it really extravagant that a hotel chain like Best Western cannot provide a replacement. We were ushered in by a maid and were left alone waiting for like 20 minutes. Then we decided to go have a lunch and left there our luggage and went back to check in after lunch. Being a 4 star hotel management should at least have two people at the reception alternating each other.
Besides this my overall experience was more than positive. At the time of my booking my room was 175 euros. Good value for money considering service and location.
Get a look at my pictures to get a real glimpse of it!

the hotel location was in a prime area. A walking distance from the Louvre, and the Notre-dam Cathedral. The hotel personnel were very helpful and friendly. They were very receptive to requests. The room are cozy and very clean. Good value for money.

“Great hotel in the very center of the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Just a lovely, lovely small 4stars hotel in the very best location in the city. Step away from the Louvre museums, the Palais Royal.

It's located on the best shopping street in Paris, maybe one of the best shopping streets in the world, the legendary Saint Honore ;) So get ready for the best shopping experience, ladies :))))

The service is very good, the concierge is very helpful and professional.

Lots of lovely restaurants and lounges around. A good hair salon just across of the hotel but you got to wait in a line, 40 Euro +tips for a hairwash/styling.

The hotel is very clean, cosy, but pretty small. The standard room is small, but that's pretty common for the Parisian hotels. I had a good room (not the standard one, the next level, forgot the name), with the city view, it was 1.5 time bigger than the room my friend had.

The breakfast was good, omelets, cheese selection, coffee, fresh juices, yogurts, croissants, bread, and etc.

The WiFi is free. No gym/swimming pool.

Taxi service to/from the Orly Airport is about 25 euro one way. The hotel can order a mini bus to the airport which is about 18 euro a person (obviously it's cheaper to have taxi if there're 2 or more travelers).

And the hotel has the most TINY elevator I have ever seen in my life. No way 4 people can get in there, 2 max and still they will be on each other. Indeed, French women don't get fat: with this kind of elevators they never fit in with their shopping bags and have to take stairs :)

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the street view!

perfect stay in a very well situated area with very good breakfast & very helpful staff.
Only the cleaning at the room was lower compared to the hotel quality & to my expectations. We had out off shampoo & soap for 3 days....maybe beacuse of the first day of the year but you should take your precautions before the special days....there can be a small (something) for the guest who spend their new year eve at your hotel.I've expected that...your in Paris & new year eve !!! Nothing from your hotel not even a note on your bed...

“Not a 4-star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Good location - BUT:
rooms (and the lift) are very small; the choice of TV-channels is very limited (the only german TV-station available is RTL !); the staff (with the exception of the reception) definitely lacks training (or is underpaid) - no smiles, no greetings, no service mentality, guests at the beakfast-room get the impression to be unwelcome; compared with other Best Western Premier Hotels (in Germany for ex.) the breakfast is minimalistic and not of a good standard: scrambled eggs were hard, the selection of cheese was limited to two kinds (in France !), the water in the Evian bottle came from the tap etc.
