It's been awhile, 5 -6 years since we were at the Crillon. I would give the hotel 3 and one half stars only because the value is no greater than that. The room was a bit "tired". The walls paper thin so a noisy couple next door was not entertaining. I too had a small bill problem. Over charging for laundry and other small things. There was a $22 charge twice for something I did not recognize. When questioned the very impressed with himself and pompous young man related that the charge was for 2 hot chocolates. I was shocked and questioned the price. The ingenue stated "this is the Crillon". That explains the hotel. It is phony as only a 5 star hotel can be. Some of the "help" thinks you are the "help". That is a problem everywhere. It is why I no longer stay at the "Crillons". If you are not willing to be patronized at $1000 per night don't go. Location is phenomenal.If you want a full and much closer view of the Tour Eiffel stay @ The hotel Alma in the 7th for about $150 per night. I'll bet no one has ever compared these 2 hotels before. The Ambasseudor is a great restaurant. It was 2 Michelin stars last I was there and well worth the price. For less than half the price the chocolate ancienne, hot chocolate, can be had in a gorgeous setting; the lobby of the Plaza Athenee, at less than half the Crillon's price. Also, not a hotel to be denied. I am humored by the manager of the Crillons replies apologizing for some oversights without ever offering a dollop of remuneration in any form to complaints. That too says volumes about the entitlement of the Crillon.

This is not the Paris hotel I can stay in often, but was a wonderful one-time experience over 34 years of visiting Paris. Of course, the location is spectacular, the building and history gorgeous, the rooms nice (but a little dated), the public areas beautiful, but the exceptional service is what sets it apart. Attentive, responsive service from all levels of the staff make every guest feel just as important as the next and as you would like. Brunch in the gorgeous Les Ambassadeurs and tea in the Winter Garden were lovely.

This is the quintessential French hotel. Gracious, impeccable service. Location on the storied Place de la Concorde. Beautiful public rooms, delicious food and wonderful room service. Our only disappointment was the configuration of the room/s. We had 4 small rooms - much like French apartments - that made us feel confined. Nothing like the spacious one room deluxe rooms pictured on their website.We asked to be moved to one room but that never happened. Maybe it's just the 5th floor. We will go back but only if we can have one spacious room, not 4.

I went in mid summer and the service was truly impeccable. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous that were filled with that "French" tradition, not to mention the consistency of the rooms. The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful (not to mention the lobby and les ambassadeurs-which was by far one of the best restaurants in Paris). In my opinion, it is better than the ritz, and better than the George V, which is beautiful as well but doesn't have that same authenticity that the Crillon has. Truly an amazing hotel that really consists of pure luxury.
