“Great Location - Dont be scared by all these reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2011

We were very nervous coming to stay at this property for a week, but it was not as bad as most people made it sound. Its not the Ritz, so if you are expecting that dont stay here. We stayed in an apt that fit our needs pefectly. The location was perfect for us, about 10 min walk to champs elysees and 10 min walk to arc de triomphe where there was a major train station.
We were not in the room long enough to watch television (yes, its an old tv, but we were in paris to sightsee and not stay in the room).
The staff was very accomodating, gave us helpful information, and greeted us with a smile everytime we went in/out of the door.
Beds were clean and comfortable and we used the room for sleeping only. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.

“Don't sleep at night!!”

For my mothers birthday we decided to spend a short trip in Paris. After searching through various hotels and finding them all too expansive, we found this hotel and decided tO give it a go. From day 1 there were problems: when we arrived we were told our breakfast (which costs €20) was included which we found out later was not. The breakfast itself was horrible: cold food which was suppose to hot, not alot of great choice which you wouldn't expect from a 4 star hotel! Sleeping was the worst as we could hear the elevator and the noise from the street. Answer: sleepless nights, bad food and bad service!

“Not 4 Star”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2011

It is very expensive and not a 4 star hotel if you ask me. However if you can not find anything better you can stay for a night or two (not a nightmare).

The breakfast is mediocre, questionable if it is worth the 20 EUR charge...
Internet connection (by cable) not included in the price. Extra EUR 20 with an external company.

Ask for room 512 (nice, renovated room overlooking the street but quiet). Avoid ending up in a room with elevator noise (510). Changing a room is difficult since the hotel seems to be fully booked all the time (!).

Do not bother mentioning the reviews you read here to get some leverage the reply you will get is "We do our best, you can cancel if you like (your average French arrogance)"

“Great Location but too many faults for the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011

We stayed here one night en route back from the alps and paid an amount which turned out to be significantly less than tariff. However, it was a terrible nights sleep due to having a room which had recently had laminate floors put in, but the bedstead must have been the one previously used on carpet. It was not fixed to the wall and was on castors, so any movement (sitting down, sitting up, rolling over) was a demonstration of the 3rd law of thermodynamics as the bed slid across the room.

There was no mini-bar, nor a remote for the TV ( which meant you had to sit up and lean over to it to turn it on or change channels, which resulted in the bed sliding across the room) and although you could order items to your room the prices were ridiculous (cocktails €20 upwards, 25cl bottle of beer €9!) for a hotel which isn't in my view of a standard which could charge those prices.

Had I paid less for the hotel, these would have been minor enough annoyances to stay again. Had I paid more, I would have wanted my money back. As it was I will just look elsewhere first.

“I would not recommend this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2011

Although the location of this hotel is nice, it takes about 15 minutes to walk down to Champs Elysees, the hotel itself is really run down. I had the pleasure of staying at the apartment with 2 rooms and a kitchen for 240 Euro a night. The door to my hotel room would not close, the latch was broken....The furniture was ok, but the general condition of the rooms was very poor, even by Parisian standards. A light painting would help, a major remodeling would turn it into a nice property. There was a stove in the kitchen, but cups, plates, cutlery, tea cattle were all missing. I suppose thoughtful travelers bring these useful kitchen items with them on a trip, I was not as clever. :) My bathroom was is a really bad condition, as well. They don't clean shower heads, despite its large size, only 1/4 of it was not clogged up. The shower head was too far from the tub itself, I had to lean towards the wall to get some water onto myself. Barely survived the experience.. The staff was helpful, there was a personal radiator to adjust temperature of the room, but these were the only advantages. I would pay 70 USD for such a room, max. But for the price I paid, I am terribly disappointed. Moved to their sister property Washington Opera hotel, and had a much better experience for much less.
