“Excellent in all respects !!”

General: Excellent
Position: one minute away from Chataeu d'Eau train station
five to fifteen minutes away from the following train stations: Gare de l'Est,
Gare du Nord, and Strasbourgh St Denis- could,nt be better !! Lots of bars next
door. You can even hire a bicycle right on the front door !
Walking: You can easily walk to the popular Opera La Fayette shopping centre.
If you like long walks, then, go down Strasbourgh street and Sebastopol street and and you are in the heart of the main attractions of Paris. From here, cross the
bridge to Notre Dame, back again to Louvre, Truilles Gardens, to Orsay museum
on the other side of the river, From here, you can cross the bride again to
Concorde square and procees to Champs Elysees and Arch de Triomphe. Then to
Trocaders to see the Eiffel Tower.
Hospitality: The receptionists were very friendly and speak perfect english. You do not
need to prepare much travel info, as they know it all and they show you where
to go and the nearest train station on a map ! They are all excellent, but must
mention receptionist Ms Joel, very helpful indeed. I was asked what type of room
I wanted !
Rooms: Very clean. A bit small, but comfortable, with airconditioning and central heating.
Service Very good

Room Tip: You will be asked what kind of room you prefere

“TIME OF MY LIFE, LOVE PARIS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

I spent a week at this hotel and it was the best experience. My first time in Paris and I have to thank the Hotel and their whole crew, no exceptions, for making it possible. They helped us with tours, fed us a great breakfast every morning, gave us all the information needed to get to places, provided us with tours making it possible to go to Normandie and havea wonderful day there and at night we always had a great place to call home. The location was wonderful too, everything arouns, all kinds of food, access to Metro, etc. We love Paris!!!!!!

Room Tip: Third floor room was great.

“Perfect to stay if you are visiting The New Morning Jazz Club”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

Brilliant hotel right opposite New Morning-Managed to not only drop our bags off at 9am but was fortunate enough to have a room offered at that time. This was perfect as we could spend all day walking round paris. this hotel is only 2 metro stops from Guard de Nord so 10-15 minutes from Eurostar. Its a two minute walk from metro just walk down side road with Sunshine clothes shop on the corner, carry on straight down the road onto the next road and hotel on the right. If you have pre booked tickets for jazz club you can literally avoid the mile long queue and go straight in. Any way back to the hotel staff, exceptionally friendly and spoke perfect English! thank god as we speak very little french. Room clean, shower soaked flour but all good . Good bed nice and firm and tv in room with hair dryer too. Loved it would recommend if hotel is just a base as Paris too interesting to spend all day in room. Not a grand luxurious hotel but for the money great value. Perfect two days would definitely rerurn

“Pretty small hotel, can recommed...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

I´ve stayed in BW Aulivia Opera for 2 days and I think my choise was right.

Hotel is quite near centre, it´s about 15 minuts walk to Sienna river and about 20 minuts walk to SacreCour. Nearest metro station is Chateau D´Eau, approx 100 meters from hotel. It´s only several streets from Gare du Nord.

Behind the corner there are supermarket, bakery and many foreign restaurants. And this is meaby the only one disadvantage of hotel. In neighbourhood are many turkish, pakistan, india´s etc restaurants, so if you try to find typicall french restaurant or caffe you have to find somewhere else. And also you can meet many immigrantsespecially in the evening and during night . If ladis travel alone, in the evening rather walk always in pair. :-/

But hotel itself is really fine, small lobby, small but sufficient breakfast room. Rooms are also small, but it´s typical for hotel in Paris. Room was clean, with roof window, nice and clean bathroom. Breakfast was excellent - fully buffet.!!! :-)

Hotel has a baggage room what is really practical, cause we arrived early in the morning and we could left our baggage at the hotel till the evening when we came back to check-in. Staff was very welcoming and helpfull.

I can really recommend to everybody who likes to explore Paris by foot.

“Paper thin walls...really!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three (loud) nights in May. We were sent here after Best Western les theatres overbooked. The staff were great, helpful friendly but that is where the good news ends. When I first climbed in the bed, something poked me in the leg. I pulled back the covers and found a toenail....GROSSSSS! The first night we were up listening to a spanish couple laugh, fight, yell and laugh again. We could literally hear each articulation. The second night we used earplugs but the fire alarm woke us up at 6am. We were outside briefly and then sent back in (no fire deptartment visit). We were told it was a malfunctioning alarm - super! The last day there, the tiny elevator broke down and we hauled our luggage down the stairs...not a big deal - at least it was not up! Overall, not impressed with this hotel. Avoid if you can.
