“Noisy, small and not so clean”

I stayed in this hotel in mid october 2011 for 4 nights while I was on a business trip. The rooms are not isolated at all. You could hear everything from the next room. The rooms were extremely small and bed not so comfortable. the light is very low and not ideal to work. the bathroom ceiling was filthy with fungus everywhere. digusting ! the phone was not working. No internet access in the rooms. they claim they have wifi at the reception but it's so weak, it's actually frustrating when you work. They charge 9 euros for breakfast and what a breakfast!!! the viennoiseries were not fresh, they were at least 2 days old and were almost crunchy. I would not stay there in my next trip for sure.

“Choose somewhere else-Terrible Terrible Experience.”

I stayed here two weeks ago. I am in Paris at least a couple of times a year so have tried a number of hotels and this has to be all time worst.
First hint of a bad sign was on check in when we were advised that they had problems with electricity on first floor so they had relocated us to another hotel. We then waited for 20 minutes whilst the hotel manager tried to get us a taxi to take us to new hotel. Fair enough we would give them the benefit of the doubt though were already put out as the reason we had chosen this hotel was its location to Gare Montparnasse as we had an early morning train. We were eventually taken to another hotel by taxi. We are not sure where the new hotel was though it seemed far away and not near RER or metro. So us and the taxi driver went in to check in at new hotel which we had been assured would be no problem as all had been organised only to find out all in French cause no one could actually be bothered speaking to us that they were indeed not expecting us and would not accept us. I understand the new hotel did have a room though didn't want to send a room boy to put in pillows. So over an hour later from when we first tried to check in we went back to the hotel. We weren't really offered a explanation as to what had gone wrong though when I very aggetatedly explained I was pregnant and needed to sleeep and we had an early train we were offered a room on the 3rd floor. There were now other guests in lobby also waiting taxis and likely to face similar escapades late at night on a Friday.
The room was the tinyest we have stayed in for Paris, Bathroom was dirty, hair on the bath etc, at least sheets appeared clean. Normally I would have complained about cleaning of room though by this time we were so tired and there was obviously no other options we just tried to sleep. It was extremly hot in the small room and I had to be careful not to hit my head on ceiling when getting out of bed as ceiling sloped in. The double bed mattress was the worst I slept in and literally rolled in.You could hear sound of lift and everything else and the bars on the street until at least 3am.
Hopefully you would understand why i would never stay at this hotel again. I stayed at an ibis on our return to Paris for a similar price and was 5 times better in every way.

“A place to stay that is in Paris.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

If you are on a budget and you can only afford to go to Paris if you stay at this place, I say go for it, with some warnings.

The pros: I found the desk staff to be friendly enough. We were allowed to check in early. The bathroom was actually pretty decent for a budget Euro hotel, one of the best I've seen as a frequent budget traveler. The location next to Pernety station is great, easy to get anywhere. There are nice bars/restaurants within a block or two that are nice for a nightcap or a quick breakfast before sightseeing.

Now the cons, and there are some big ones.
BIG CON: The hotel had no record of our pre-paid hotel booking from a top online service. Luckily we had our printed receipt and they had a room free. This could have been a MAJOR problem. If you stay here and book online, call them to confirm the reservation.

CON: Overly aggressive cleaning staff walks right into your room, seeming to pick the most...um....inopportune time to do so. Admittedly we're late risers, but seeing as they keep the key at the front desk they should know we are there. Inexcusable.

CON: No safe. Sketchy cleaning staff (see above and other reviews). Don't leave anything here.

CON: Super beat-up rooms and lobby look like it was furnished from a flea market, but at least our room was clean with no weird stains visible as other reviewers have noted.

CON: Returned to room one night at 11:30PM, door locked, front desk person was away from desk. Banged on door for 10 minutes wondering if we'd be able to get in. Finally the desk man showed up and shot as a nasty look for knocking so loud.

Overall if it's a choice between staying here or not going to Paris I'd say I guess it's OK, but next time I'll be looking elsewhere.

“Possible hidden cameras in rooms/Unsafe: Don't Leave Valuables in the Room”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2011

We decided to stay at this hotel due to the relativeley cheap price and proximety to the metro at pernety. However, we had a number of negative experiences most notable being that my credit cards were stolen out of my suitcase on our fourth day their.

My opinion is that one of the mades stole the cards, but it could have been anyone on the hotel staff with acess to the master key. The odd thing was that I carried my cards with me the first four days we were there and left other valuables out (passport, nintendo 3ds, HD camcorder) then the one day I left them in my suitcase someone rustled through my suitcase and took them (almost like they knew right where to look). The more I think about it the more plausible it seems that someone has a hidden video camera and was spying on us. Furthermore when we arrived they changed our room from a twin bed room to a single bed room without us asking (room 415), it is possible that due to my gf and I being relatively good looking/athletic people in our mid 20s that this was done solely for voyeuristic reasons and then they happened to see my take my cards out of my wallet one day and couldn't resist stealing (if this happened it was probably one of the managers and not the made). In any event there are several other reviewers (some in other languages) who have also complained about things being stolen from them during their stay in this hotel.

Other negatives: Dismal Breakfast, Loud interuptions by mades and other guests getting on and off the elevator in the morning, WIFI only available on the first floor in the lounge and slow and unreliable even there, small rooms that were poorly lit, few electrical outlets, stains on the mattress cover that look like semen, no safe to store your valuables, limited channel selection on TV with the BBC being the only thing in English, some of the staff members were rude (some were nice though).

Positives: metro proximity, price, decent places to eat nearby.

“Good hotel, Good price, Great location! When”

When we first checked in we had reservations from first site, but we quickly learned that the staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though the room is small which we only went there to sleep, the location was GREAT. The best bakery across the street, restaurants and cafes are everywhere, metro station two doors to the left, and a supermarket down the street.
I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN
