“Overnight stay at Hotel Acropole”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2007

This hotel is a typical middle of the road French hotel.

I stayed here overnight on a business trip.

Set in the heart of Porte D'orleans it is not on the Paris tourist belt but is ok if that is not what you are looking for.

The Room
Rather dated, although the bathroom had been given a facelift!

The Staff
Very helpful, friendly and spoke very good English. I needed directions to the office where I was having a meeting. The receptionist went online, downloaded a Google map and oulined the route I needed to take.

Breakfast
Basic continental type but but fresh and tastey. The coffee is magnificent though!

Overall
A pretty tired hotel but with a comfortable bed, helpful staff and off the beaten track.

“Great value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2007

Hotel Acropole is a great value for Paris. The metro station is literally right outside the door! The metro ride isn't that far to the major sites either. The staff is friendly and speaks a bit of English. The hotel is super clean! The bathroom looks really nice, but it's the worst shower you'll ever take. We didn't pay for their breakfast because it didn't look very substantial. There are plenty of restaurants around though. There is a little store right up the road that has everything you need from toothbrushes to wine and beer. If you don't mind a little ride on the metro or bus, then you'll be getting a very NICE hotel for your money!

“short stay at the Acropole”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2006

Decided to stay one night at this hotel since we had an early flight from Orly airport. This hotel was about a 15 minute taxi ride to the airport so that was good.

Orly doesn't have a direct Metro line connected to it so we thought we'd stay somewhere in Paris a little closer to that airport.

The hotel was ok. The rooms were decorated like it was 1980.
But it was a fairly large room and bathroom for a budget hotel in Paris. The Price was pretty good but it isn't in a prime "Tourist" Location.

Most of the staff were helpful although we had a hard time getting a consistent answer to some of our questions.

It is an ok place to stay for an ok room but I'm sure there are better hotels in Paris for that price.

“Great value for the price paid”

Have visited Hotel Acropole during a short business trip to Paris in September 2006. The hotel was perfectly located - close to the venue of my business meeting, as well as to the public transportation. Although I was a solo traveller, I was given a room with a double bed and a single bed (that should be seen in the pictures). Both the room and the bath were clean, no strange smells or anything like that. Despite the near road intersection, no outside noise came through the windows - I left my windows open for the night as there was no airconditioning in the room. The breakfast was OK, although probably not worth the extra costs.

  • Liked — Great location, great value for money and free Wi-Fi Internet access
  • Disliked — Could use the airconditioning

“Cheap and conveniently located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2006

This hotel is very conveniently located next to a metro station. The rooms are clean and big, there is a TV.

To the first floor you have to take the stairs, but then there is an elevator. They serve breakfast too, but we didn´t try it because there are some cafés and restaurants around that serve cheaper breakfast. The clerks were always friendly.

Surroundings are okay, sometimes there are beggars around. There is an ATM right next to the hotel. At the boulevard there is also a post office and supermarkets and you can find a cinema and a Starbucks there as well as loads of restaurants. Try the Buffalo Grill and the Italian restaurant which is only a few houses away from the hotel.

The hotel is certainly not the Hilton, but if you want to travel on low budget and see as much as you can it is a great place to stay.
