Although new to Trip Advisor I travel a lot, and have blogged frequently on my personal site (www.pmooney.net). This hotel was so bad, it deserved a post dedicated to it, and even now, many months later I decided to copy my comments into the review site.

The Brebant hotel in Paris is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. And I have stayed in some sh1t-holes.

Room – Filthy
Lift – Circa 1957
Stairs – worn down to a slant
Air/con – broken
Ironing facilities – None. Not just none in the room, but none at all unless you are willing to bribe a cleaner.
Bathroom – no comment
Beds – I would of slept on the floor except it was stinking
TV – My laptop is bigger
Staff – useless, arrogant pricks
Do not disturb – they come into the room anyway
I could really go on

I was there for only two nights by myself (1st time in Paris, didn't know anyone). The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure I had the best experience ever! They were beyond great! The location is very central. There is a subway (metro) station right in front of the hotel, there are also shops, bars, the Opera and Gallerie Lafayette are also nearby. My room was old but clean and big! Very big! So was the bathroom! It was a nice surprize since if you book a budget room for one in Europe they put you in the broom closet! Hotel was a little "tilted" to one side but that was funny because I felt like I was Alice in Wonderland. Never tried food downstairs but anywhere I ate in Paris the food was average or below :( I've been to Paris twice and never had a really good meal experience but It's OK the city is super! I mean It's Paris!! The hotel is close to the train station too and I don't speak any french all I had to say was the name of the street and the cab took me there, very easy to get there - cheap cab ride too! I stayed there in July 2009 but TripAdvisor won't let go that far back.

When I booked this hotel via the IHG website, it said that it was the newest addition to the IHG Paris family. We were expecting IHG quality in accomodations, ammenties and staff. Well, this hotel still gets the same poor ratings of the former Brebant.

The rooms are super small; double bed, small desk and bathroom the size of a postage stamp. The hotel is still very much "being renovated."

The neighborhood is the only redeaming factor - it is right on the metro, in central Paris and a healthy walk to all of the sites.

It is a shame that the "newest addition" to the IHG family is hardly worthy of its heritage.

We were in trouble due to a terrible travel agent and ended up in Paris "by mistake"!!! We were worn out and angry and the staff here helped us to see the beauty of Paris and its people. They helped in every way possible- from finding train and subway routes, calling for taxi prices, even tracking down our luggage. The room was newly remodeled and very clean. The lobby, elevator, stairs, and front of the Hotel are small and very old, but this didn't matter at all once we got in our room. It is currently located next to a small "dollar store" type place that was super convenient for people without luggage. The hotel is a few blocks from public busses and the beautiful Opera.
