I booked this place with a group of American high school students.
The staff was super helpful and friendly when making and changing reservations. I was very pleased with the level of contact and communication.
The location is fabulous. In Montmartre only a few minutes from the Abbesses & Blanche métro stops. Maybe 5 minutes from Sacré Coeur. There are shops, cafés, bars, restaurants....everything you need.
The hotel has a nice appearance when you walk in. The breakfast room was small (16 spots) but with some of the improvements being made, there was dust that encroached into this eating space. The elevator does work (currently) and the stairs are pretty standard for a French building of this size (pretty narrow spiral stairs). There was some signs of improvements and work in these common areas.
The rooms were pretty small and cramped. The bathrooms were small but they were brand new and pretty nice. Unfortunately, all three of the rooms that my group reserved were dirty. Believe me, I've seen much worse at a variety of hostels that I've slept in when I was a student but it just wasn't clean. The room was a bit stale smelling and the floor had not been vacuumed. The bathroom was passable; it was cleaned but not scrubbed. There were clean sheets, towels and the trash had been taken out. So it could be worse but it could be much better.
As far as the service aspect goes, it was good. There are 4 computers in the lobby and the WiFi is free and pretty fast. The staff was friendly and pretty helpful. Breakfast was good, standard French fare (bread, croissant, coffee, hot chocolate, cereal).
I'd recommend it for people on a low budget. The location is fabulous, the rooms are passable. Not awesome but good enough.
