My wife and I were in Paris for a couple of days with friends on our way back to the US after a fortnight in the French countryside for Christmas. The location of the hotel is superb, right in the middle of pretty much everything and with the metro a short walk away it was never a hassle getting to or from the hotel. The Sacre Coeur is literally just behind the hotel, though up a knackering number of stairs. The Moulin Rouge is a short walk away, and of course being in Montmartre is an experience in its own right.
The staff were excellent, polite and very helpful, not to mention patient with my stumbling school boy French. We had a room at the front of the hotel, in the older section of the building. The room was adequately sized, and really who goes to Paris to spend lots of time in a hotel room? The downsides though were the tiny shower and the weird slopping of the floor, and the elevators are very very small, one person and luggage at time. Other than those things it was fine. The breakfast was good, and at 8.60 Euro for a buffet breakfast significantly cheaper than the set menu options in the area.
While the hotel itself was fine and the location generally excellent, there was a constant problem with noise from the street late into the night - our room was right on the street, which only quietened down at about 2 in the morning. If we stay there again I will request a room in the back of the building.
Room Tip: Rooms in the newer section away from the street are significantly quieter.
