“Mercure standard confort room; nice location along Seine river”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Near to Bibliothèque Nationale de France and from Palais Omnisports di Paris-Bercy (350mt)il Mercure Paris Austerlitzis a great loaction along Sein river with a nice overlooking.
Despite it is in the middle of traffic, rooms are quite confortable (low noise) and very well equipped witha modern stuff; free Wi-Fi connection.
Breakfast is OK and there are several menu choice.
Transportation advantage is in front of subway stop (Quai de la Gare) where you can go to downtown or change with others subways line to reach monuments and historical places. It is located also near to railway station of Gare d'Austerlitz and Gare de Lyon. If you stay in Paris for business or leisure is a value money and nice location to stay.

“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I thought this was a great little hotel. It is located next to the river, the national library and the Omnisport arena. Train station is across the road. Although the rooms are compact, they are very functional. The rooms are modern and, most importantly, clean. I thought the staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. For sure this is an excellent choice if you are visiting on business, expecially if the office is in the near area. If location is not an issue, then this is a good hotel should the office be in another part of Paris.

“Great value for great money!”

We were very satisfied with the hotel and will definitely stay here again during our next stay in the city of love!
Room is very nice, bed was very good, bathroom was fully equipped and very clean. Very quiet as the hotel is not located in the center of the city.
Breakfast was very good, allthough not much space in the breakfast room. We went to get our breakfast at 8am, to get there before the rush. Very good restaurant next door (Lily and... ?).
Free wifi internet is available.
Staff is friendly, but not very up to date for tips and tricks to visit Paris.
Security is always present, and luggage is kept locked away after check-out until you leave. Location is at the far outside of the center of Paris (quai de la gare), however, metro connections are very good (on average 10-15minutes from and to center Paris). For us, this was not a problem seen the fact that the room was cheaper than any (so called) 3* hotel next to the Tour Eiffel.
Additionally, for those travelling from countries nearby: different underground parking spaces are available.
Overall: great value for great money!!

“Awkward Luxury”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

The hotel is top notch. The staff well presented and trained. The room is plush, more TV channels available than most other hotels, the bed super comforable, a fridge if you'd like to store your own snacks and drinks and there are Coffee/Tea utensils in the room too. Wifi Internet available for free with a code. (I forget if there was a computer in the lobby, not sure) Unfortunately, the illusion of luxury is destroyed by its location because it becomes an odyssey to get to and fro the hotel. The metro stop is on a line that requires you to change no matter where you want to go in Paris. The bus routes aren't that helpful either. And there were vagrants outside which took the allure away from the place.
I got the room at a great price (some promo) and I would go again but I wouldn't take my friends there as they are not as enamored with Paris as I am and I am pretty sure the negatives would put them off.

Room Tip: I was on the side where the metro was but I didn't hear a thing.

“want customer service? fight for the right”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Our stay started of ok though we were disappointed with the size of the room and subsequently very happy that we booked a privilege room since i couldnt imagine what the size of a classic room would have been. There are absolutely no information available in the room about the hotel amenities, breakfast timings etc. I mention this since we were informed by the desk clerk that breakfast would be from 07:00 - 11:00, he just forgot to mention that this timings were only during weekdays. So we walked into breakfast on Saturday morning around 09:50 and were informed that breakfast would close in 10 minutes and we ended up having the left overs since the buffet was no longer being replenished.
The first night we spent there was absolutely tiresome because of the temperature in the room and the absolute lack of airconditioning. When we called the reception to ask about the air conditioning we were told that it will probably not be turned on....after trying a couple of times we were offered a portable fan which we settled for and were happy with.
The last day we requested for a late check out which was part of our package and were blantly refused by the receptionist even if there was availability. We were finally granted the late check out which we had full right to only after talking to the manager.

Another general remark, we were not met with a friendly staff when we addressed them in English. I understand that in France, people speak French but us poor sods who do not speak English should apparently not expect friendliness from the staff in a hotel that we pay for.

I think that there is a serious room for improvement in customer service..I have stayed at other Accor Hotels where i have been served very satisfactorily but this hotel..I am sorry to say, I will never return to.
