After our disastrous experience of Hotel Residence Chalgrin (which we left after 15 minutes) we found an internet cafe and started searching for somewhere to stay. We came across this place for a decent price and decided we would go and look at it. It was fairly hard to find as nobody in Paris seemed to know where the address was, but once found we were pleasantly greeted by a nice receptionist and asked to see a room. fter being at the Hotel Chalgrin this place seemed like the Ritz so we quickly snapped it up. Was pretty good value at 260 Euros for 2 nights, the staff were very helpful and pleasant, the Hotel was nice and clean and the decor cosy (although could do with a a lick of paint in places) The rooms were comfortable although the walls are very thin and you can here other Hotel guests during the night. The hotel is a leisurely ten minute walk from the Metro station in a anice neighbourhood. All in all it;s a decent option in Paris, but as we were desperate we were delighted with the place.

we just returned from a vacation of 3 days in paris satyed there 2 nights. i absolutely loved this hotel, i will come back to it and will recommend my friends to go there. and here is why:

location- absolutely perfect. reasonable walking distance from champs elysee, arc the triumph, eiffel tower, nothre dam cathedral and many more... we went ewerywhere by foot only used the metro to get to the airport. and on our way back from the eiffel tower.

the price! it was a great value for the money we paid less then 190 euros per 2 nights in a high season (25-27 august).

the hotel is located in a small quiet street, which means you have a good night sleep with no noise arround. a few steps away is a big street with alot of restaurants and caffes, a great bakery is nearby and also sturbucks.

metro station st. augustin is 2 minutes away from the hotel- it connects you anywhere you want including cdg/ory a/p.

the staff of the hotel speaks perfect english, are very polite, and willing to help. you can leave your luggage there when you check out....

there is a free wi -fi connection available in the rooms, you need to request a password at the reception.

the hotel has a great room service menu.

there is an air condiotener in the rooms.

rooms are small but very clean and nice looking, exactly as it looks on the pictures.

we even recieved a room on the fifth floor with tiny balcony with a view of a nearby church and could smoke there.

bathroom is clean and the maids clean rooms spotless every day.

the bed is comfortable enough.

we didn't hear anything from the neighbour rooms.

we had a flat screen toshiba tv with english channels.


i would even give this hotel 4 stars i really loved it!

We stayed at Saint Augustin (which is a Best Western hotel) for a short city break in Paris in August. The hotel was easy enough to find, although is tucked away down a little side street and is a 3 minute walk from the Saint Augustin metro stop. The Saint Lazare mainline station (you can get the metro from here also) was also close and on a different line. The hotel reception was very spacious and clean and we were checked in very efficiently, even allowed into our room ahead of check in time which was handy. The room we stayed in was very small, you wouldn't want to spend much time in there. It also smelt of stale smoke which lingered on our clothes even when we got home! Despite the area seeming very quiet, our room was subject to a lot of noise from traffic. We didn't opt for breakfast as thought this was quite expensive (12 euro I believe) however we did see the buffet and it looked nice. We instead ate at a little cafe/bakery a couple of minutes walk down the road which offered a huge variety of yummy pastries and I'd highly recoomend eating there before starting to day. Saint Augusin itself was quite quiet, but I guess that was because it was August when most Parisians are away. There were a few nice restaurants in the area if you didn't want to venture further into the centre. All in all I'd say this was an average hotel, if you want somewhere to just lay your head at a relatively reasonable price (for Paris) then this hotel would be OK. However I don't think we'd go back to this hotel personally .

We stayed here for a short sightseeing break and found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and quiet and in a great location to stroll up to the Champs Elysees.
The continental buffet breakfast was very satisfactory and the staff were helpfull.
For those people who don't want to travel too far in the evening there are some bars and restaurants very nearby.
We would definately return.
