We stayed at Hotel Francois 1 er because their sister hotel, Hotel Keppler was over booked and we agreed to stay here one night. We were glad we did and would go back. We would say that Keppler is a slight step up but for the money and the better location, this is a very good option for someone who wants a reasonable price, nice Paris hotel, in a great location in the Paris Golden Triangle. This is a small boutique style hotel. The service was extremely attentive. We arrived from the airport and offered a seat in the parlor as we waited to be checked in. They brought us some espresso and some cookies as we waited which was a nice touch. Breakfast was included which was very well presented and beautiful. The decor is ornate french traditional Louis XIV. The rooms were well appointed and beautiful of average size. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and thoughtfully put together. Our room had no view but that didn't detract. Strongly recommend this hotel

We loved our stay at the Francois 1er, it is a beautiful hotel perfectly located near the metro George V in a quite area although close to the Champs Elysee. It felt like a B&B deluxe, we really felt very welcome and treated like special guests, not just clients in a hotel. Our double room was not too big but the rooms are beautifully decorated and the bed so comfortable - great pillows and perfect mattress. Very clean bathroom with nice big bath. Lovely attention in the evening by the bed -bottles of water and chocolates. We also found the rooms very warm but once we switched off the heating it was fine. The hotel is quiet at night, we slept so well.
Breakfast was fine but pricey. At checkout thought, to our surprise the manager very kindly offered a lower rate to all of us (we were 3 couples) on the breakfast, as well as he gave a special price to one of the couples who had a more expensive room than the rest (when booking it was the only one available) so that we all pay the same price. Very attentive of him, and very appreciated by the 6 of us !
The rest of the staff was as attentive, friendly and welcoming as the manager.
Hotel might be on the expensive side but well worth the money for the comfort and professionalism of its staff. To be recommended ! One of our best experience in the hotel world !

Paris had been our last stop for our Christmas/new year european honeymoon. We were to stay in Paris from dec 29th till jan 3rd. We had chosen Francios 1er based on trip advisor's recommendations and I must say, it is a very good hotel if you are staying one or two nights. Location is very ideal if you are looking for champs élysées touristic scene. However, for long stays I would look at the many parisian hotel. Check in was extremely smooth and the manager, which we saw the first day and last day (every one need a holiday break sometime) was extremely welcoming. On the last day we had breakfast on the house, wonderfully made. We had the deluxe room and it was a bit small, it had a two twin bed attached to each other to feel like king bed. One day I had felt sick and stayed in. Would have liked to get room service, unfortunately the hotel lacks this service. In short we would come back if staying a maximum of two days, but would rather have a full service hotel on longer stay.

I generally like large hotels with modern decor. The Hotel Francois was small, "boutiquey" and traditional, and, in spite of this, I liked it very much.

Our suite was equipped with 5 star quality furnishings... luxurious draperies, ultra-high quality furniture, exquisite wall coverings and a very comfortable king bed. ( real king bed; not 2 twins put together) The bathroom was large, had marble flooring, walls and sink tops. It had both a large bathtub and separate stall shower. The reception staff were ultra friendly and helpful. Breakfast offerings were plentiful and top quality. (the only thing missing was bacon) Service was cheerful and efficient. The location was great with the Eiffel Tower, Arch d Triumph and Champs Elysses within short walks.

The temperature in our room tended to be uncomfortably warm. This was mitigated by turning off the heat and opening the windows. This worked well as the hotel is located on a quiet street. While the location is terrific in may respects, it is quite far from Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter and Monmartre.

A couple we met at breakfast complained about the the ultra small size of their standard room. Those considering staying here might consider this when selecting a room category.

This is my 30th Trip Advisor review and I consider the Francois to be in the top five of all the hotels I have reviewed.

I found the other TA reviews of the Francois 1er to be unusually accurate.

The management of this hotel clearly knows how to run an excellent facility.

I would definitely stay here again.
