Could use a bit of maintenance as the carpets and walls are looking a bit old and shabby but it was ok and very convenient. Great to have a little kitchenette and a good location, close to the pretty Villiers area and Parc Monceau. Our only major complaint was the awful bed which was actually a sofabed. As it was a small room we could see the convenience in being able to convert the bed into a couch but really as it was the only bed in the room comfort should have been the bigger priority. An air conditioner would have been a welcome addition in the small space as well. We certainly had a great stay and it was a wonderful area but keep in mind that this place is pretty 'rugged' .

The hotel is tucked away in a small side street in a great area for local resteraunts bars small shops and the metro. We had a family suite . The kids were meant to sleep on a very suspect dinghy sofa. The miniscule shower was just not clean and the furniture was of charity shop standard .Made a very simple supper ate in court yard( were guests came to smoke and yell ) On washing plates after dinner the kitchenette tap flew off drenching the entire downstairs room, The girl at the front desk (who spoke to her boyfreind on the phone for hours!) gave us 3 old towels(claimed last towels in hotel) and shrugged.Dried off room, lugage ,floor, dirty sofa and kids.Decided to make coffee turned on stove every light in room fused! told girl at front desk who offered us more towels and did not recognize us !! Went to bed very hot night No fans.The family in the next room sang to a sleepless child for 2 hours in between practicing their yelling and bellowing skills .Slept at 2:30am. Told manager in the morning and thank godness he moved us to another hotel.Only problem goldfish brain receptionist at this hotel too!! -still did not recognise ever having seen us !!-told us we needed a booking although her manager had explained it all to her .I speak passable French -not a language barrier a grey cell problem.Beware of this hotel also there is no noise ordinance in France!!

We had the most magnificent time in Paris staying at the Palais. Will definately stay there again someday.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our 2.5 week European trip (during which we stayed at good value, not luxury hotels), and were completely underwhelmed by Pavillon Monceau. The rooms lacked cleanliness - our first room was a dirty pull out sofa with a DIRTY blanket on top. It was only in the morning when we folded up the sofa that we realized that someone had stomped dog poop into the carpet (which thereafter explained the bad smell). In our second room (we had paid for a better room at time of booking, but none were available when we checked in - this didn't seem to reduce the price we paid however!), the shower door was only 2/3 there, so shower sprayed all of the bathroom. No safes in the room, and a "leave your key behind" system, so didn't feel very secure and had to carry all of our important things with us. The breakfast was poor and the coffee undrinkable. My husband stayed here 2 years ago and had an entirely different experience. I would concur with the review that described this as a "hostel". Staff were very good, but could only deal with what they had. All that said, the area is simply wonderful and we really enjoyed the daily market which was just 2 blocks away.
