I spent two nights at this hotel (the weekend from July 29th through July 31st, 2011). It was my first time in Paris and I really enjoyed the location. It seemed to be less crowded by tourists if compared to other parts of the city I had the chance to visit, but yet still located near well known landmarks and attractions. The room was very basic, as it is an Ibis hotel, but yet large and clean. The only thing I didn't like was the way I was treated when I had to check out. I got a call in French from one of the frontdesk girls and when I asked her to switch to English she was not that nice and said "you have to get out of the room now". That was really rude and unnecessary, as I was getting my luggage and about to leave the room. When I got downstairs, my credit card took a while to pass (for some connection issue) and when I asked the frontdesk guy if I could take off my card, he said "if it's written 'wait', you have to wait". That was also not polite and unnecessary, but some people say that's the standard treatment in Paris. Worth mentioning, anyway.

Decent hotel, good location and clean, rooms and bathrooms quite small but if you're not planning on staying in the hotel for too long, a great base! Being close to Gare de Lyon means ideal for visiting Disneyland Paris!

Found it easy to get around and managed to do a see a lot from this base in the 4 days!

Also the hotel was good value and had some nice places to eat nearby!

I have stayed at different IBIS hotels over the years, this one hits the basic needs of dependable quality with respect to beds (not luxury, just adequate) and room (clean, space efficient-also good for typical European small room size standards) Liquid soap dispenser, no extras, plastic cups in the bathroom. Also, it has wifi internet code access and computer availability in the lobby too. I don't eat breakfast so I have no opinion on this aspect.
The location was great with the Gare du Lyon on Line 1 so it is easy to get around Paris or to the airport. There are paid lockers downstairs if you need to leave your luggage after checkout.
Downside was that the Staff are completely unknowledgable. They can't recommend anything to you. They don't even know about their own city. Also the staff can be very fussy with towels. We wanted extra towels and it would be a complete hardship to get them and housekeeping would take them away the next day and we would have to start the process over again.

Its okay if u only want a place to rest after an eventful day in Paris. The star is the City.
