“Great room size, location okay, cost a bit prohibitive”

This is quite an impressive hotel, I've stayed there twice so far without any issues:
- Location: 3 minutes walk from Trocadero metro (great view of the Eifell Tower from this area)
- Reception: Friendly and helpful staff
- Bar: Nice size, although I didn't stop for a drink
- Rooms: I was upgraded.. my room was HUGE! Also lots of toys - Bang & Olufsen sound system (which I couldn't work out how to use) and TV (TV signal was bad, though). Also electric blinds which was a nice touch. Bathroom was also very large, especially by Paris standards - I had a full-sized bathtub, as well as a separate toilet and shower. Toiletries were L'Occitane which are very nice. Very large and comfortable bed!

I like this place and the location works well for me... but if at full price it can be expensive. Also shame about the quality of TV signal

“Good location - could be better service and facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 April 2012

I stayed at the Ascott for 5 nights just before Eastern on a mix of business and private trip to Paris. As pointed by many, the location of the hotel is excellent, the rooms are spacious for Parisian standards and the bathroom is very well equiped and designed, featuring some very nice amenities from L'Occitane.

There were, however, some major disapointment for me for an hotel of this class. First, the TV had a very limited number of channels, none of thos adveritsed on the hotel description. after contating the reception, this seemd to be due to a change in providers but this could have been anounced earlier or compensated. Also there is no documentation in the room listing the amenities and services. One has to call the reception for everything, which is not easy as there is no concierge, our requests were not always answered or were forgotten. This perceived lack of service will make considere whether I would use this hotel again or not. Hopefully, it will improve

“Excellent location, spacious room and competent staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2012

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in Paris and certainly not the most expensive. The location was great, a 10 min walk from the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Tromphe. The fittings were all classy with expensive toiletries. The TV and music system were B&O, a first for a hotel of that class. There are some excellent eating places nearby that remain open till late night. Cross the street across the signal and you get the best shots of the Eiffel tower especially at night. The staff was warm and competent and assisted with whatever requirements I had. There were 4 cupboards in the room, which was one of the largest I have seen in Europe. All in all, en excellent experience. Yes, there is a lounge with 24 hr free coffee, a gym and a seating area if you want to invite visitors.

“Great location, beautiful property, top notch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2012

I stayed at the Ascott for 6 nights and it was awesome. It is centrally located in Paris, one block from the Trocadero metro station. Trocadero square is only one block away where you can get a great shot of the eiffel tower. Go to the square in the morning and in the evening to get different shots of the famous Paris icon, the Eiffel tower. Another 7 minute walk will get you to the Eiffel tower itself.

Everything at the property is top-notch. From the furniture to the bathroom fixtures, they were all high-end. They even provide you with L'Occitane toiletries. The electric blinds were way cool and the B&O AV system really tops it off. There are abstract sculptures throughout the facility. There is a gym and common lounge area.

The staff is extremely helpful. They were so nice that we even bought them pastries from the Boulangerie across the street.

Tips:

1) As other reviews noted, the basic room does not have a standup shower. There is a large bathtub with an extendable showerhead. However, there is no showerhead holder for you to standup and shower. We upgraded to the junior suite and the bathroom was huge. The suite comes with a walk-in shower room with a rain shower system, toilet room, plus a large bathtub.

2) Also noted by other reviews, there are no kettles in the room to boil water. However, you can simply get hot water from the bar on the main floor, free of charge.

3) If you need to do laundry, there is one located across from the Radisson hotel 3 blocks away.

Room Tip: If standup shower is your thing, try to go for a suite.

“Location, location, location (and valet!)”

Very impressed from start to finish - they're in the process of renovating part of the building but there's no sign or sound anywhere in the hotel. Fantastic room - all Bang and Olufsen AV stuff, huge room.
Two downsides: the first was the lack of a standup shower, but the huge bath-tub made up for it!
Second was that some vacuuming had been missed, but in general was immaculate.
Cheaper can be found, but you won't get the same service.
