As many reviewers have mentioned, this is by no means a 4 star hotel. It's extremely shabby and needs some serious refurbishment all round. Having said that, some of the reviews seem very harsh and don't reflect our experience.
Our room (204) was spacious for a European hotel. Although shabby, it was not dirty. the sheets, blankets and towels were all clean and new looking and the room was cleaned daily. The beds were comfortable and firm, we had a siesta and a good nights sleep each day we were there! One complaint would be that we booked a double bed and this was two singles pushed together which isn't quite the same.
The room was warm, even with the temperature at -6 outside. There didn't appear to be many other guests, so noise was not a problem. Street noise was minimal, but if you like to sleep in total darkness, better take an eye mask as the curtains don't block out the street lights.
There was nothing in the mini bar, which didn't bother us. The TV was a bit on the small size for the size of the room and one morning had some unexplained power cuts. Other people have mentioned that their are no tea and coffee facilities in the room but other than in England this is not the norm in Europe, so wouldn't have expected that.
The staff we dealt with were perfectly friendly. Although we did only deal with them when checking in, checking out and leaving our bags for a few hours.
We didn't have breakfast, need the internet or order any taxis etc, so I can't comment on them.
On a final note. The location is amazing and made our trip very comfortable as we didn't need to use public transport at all to get around. People who are giving less than 5 stars for location aren't being very honest and are letting the rest of their stay negatively effect that score.
For the price and location, I would seriously consider staying in this hotel again.
