Chopin is an example of the France of yesteryear you imagine......quaint decor, original fittings, leather antiquitated sofas, views from your french (door style)windows of Parisian rooftops.......its not the place for a modern minimalist.....it would be wasted on you. Will return for another romantic weekend oneday.

Charming hotel in a charming passage, good location, pretty good value for Paris, great breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice! I would definitely recommend this place!

gem of a find in paris. perfect for the price, quaintness, hospitality, location. staff, sandrine and karine very friendly, charming and helpful. helped me understand and navigate the metro system, with the grand boulevard station right outside the door. hotel very clean, basic, quiet for a good rest. located inside a covered arcade in an area filled with shops, bookstores, bristos, and restaurants. noticed that there were several theaters nearby. a short straight walk down from the opera (10 minutes) after getting off the roissy bus from the airport i was at the hotel and checked in. lafayette galleries similiary a 10 minute walk across from the opera. several nice small grocery stores in the area with fresh produce and fruits every day.
the hotel is an excellent base from which to explore paris. for me it was most economical to buy 10 single metro tickets to get get to an area and then walk. paris is meant to be walked/strolled in. i spent many a delightful afternoon walking along the river or boulevards and often ending up walking back to the hotel.
other pluses of the hotel were a free computer near the lobby (which was very slow), ajustable radiator in room ( it was very mild when i was there in november and i was able to shut it off and open the window). notificed there was no ac in the room.
all in all part of a perfect stay in paris.

It was my first time in Paris, but i could say that the hotel was very good. The Staff was helpful, the hotel was well located and the breakfast was very good. The room, as I already expected, but well organized.
