“Need renovation”

We stayed in this hotel for a week. In general I was not satisfied by choosing this hotel. Here is my comments:
Advantages:
1) very good location: walking time - 1 minutes to Opera, Lafayette, 20 minutes to Sacre Coer; 15-20 minutes from Louvre/Champ Elysees
2) we took Cityrama tour to Luara - it's situated 10-15 minutes walk from hotel - so You will need to order a private transfer (save 20 eur/person)

Disadvantages:
1) old decoration - several years and it will be in extremely bad condition
2) bad beds - small and on rolls like in hospital
3) bad linens, pillows (really it's not pillows. It's flat pieces of something indescribable)
4) small variety on breakfast. But it costs twice cheaper than in the nearest restaurant.

It's Your decision. As for me I will try to choose something more interesting if I will decided to go to Paris.

“Disappointing”

We returned to the Richmond Opera for a 5 night stay, after an excellent one night stay in 2009. Check-in was a very unpleasant experience - no welcome whatsoever. Despite having booked a double room months in advance, we were allocated two single beds. When we brought this to the attention of the lady at reception, we were informed in an unpleasant manner that the chambermaid would fix it. On the previous visit, this particular chambermaid was the only rude person we encountered there. This time she was outright rude, pushing the two beds together and turning the single sheets sideways to make a double bed. The single bedspread was just flung sideways, covering half the bed. Only bolsters on the bed. Pillows in the cupboard were like lead. The night concierge was most helpful and polite, as was one other lady on daytime reception. All other staff were the most ignorant we encountered in hotels in ten countries. A very disappointing second and last visit. We had recommended this hotel to several people - never again.

“Cozy Budget Hotel Great Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2010

The hotel is a cozy clean yet old fashion hotel looks more like a family run guest house.
Its good value for money considering the location being in the heart of Paris .We walked from here to the Arc de Triumph and all in between. Indeed the young lady at the front desk is ever so friendly, helpful and speaks English and German very well. The breakfast ladies too did a good job. Serving a great breakfast buffet and fresh coffee and jus .we had taken a quit room facing to the inside of the building as we didn't care for a view at night. The beds are not too comfortable for everybody but gave us a good night rest despite being rather hard .the bath room was clean and well kept. In short a nice place to stay for a weekend and if you don't want to spend a huge amount on hotels in Paris

“"Old School Charm"”

Like stepping back in time to a quaint and charming older hotel which is clean, quiet yet with helpful staff and great location. You can't take your room key out of the hotel. You drop it off at the attendant at the front desk and pick it up when you return- no worry about losing the keys to your room!!! Internet access is available in the lobby.

“Beautiful place and beautiful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

This hotel has a lovely quiet charm. It is located in a very vibrant area of Paris, with fabulous food nearby and very close to tourist buses and the metro. It is only a short walk from the Opera and the Roissy buses from the airport drop off 5 mins away. The young lady at the front desk had amazing customer service skills and even the cleaning ladies were lovely. Our room was very clean and the bathroom had a BATH!! It was a nice treat to come back after a long day exploring Paris and have a bath. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It has a lovely old world charm about it. Loved it!!
