Things I liked:
Helpful staff, only 3-beds to a room (in my case), free wifi, and a fun downstairs bar playing good music.
I didn't like:
Very noisy all night long (on a tuesday!) breakfast not available before 7 (if you're trying to catch a 10am flight at Charles de Gaulle you're SOL for breakfast - even the coffee machine in the hall wasn't on. There is NO community kitchen, only a restaurant. Instead of proper sheets, they give you this gauzy papery stuff, like the kind of material a hospital gown is made of. The wifi didn't work very well, and there are few outlets. I do like the baggage lockers (although don't let them shut before you're done loading your stuff into them!) and the ambiance was more festive than many French hostels I've been in, so maybe it's better for party people. I just wanted to sleep.

Really good, but you have to pay to use the wi-fi. The breakfast is really good.

I was bitten 45 times in two nights in the D'Artagnan (and that was in two different rooms)! The rooms were pretty clean and tidy, but absolutely riddled with bedbugs, and my roommate said that it was standard in all the rooms of this hostel.

Which was a shame, because apart from that it wasnt too bad. Fairly good service (very friendly and cute irish guy on reception to help with my travelcard worries), no curfew, and reasonable lockout (12-3). The area wasnt great, and I felt a little bit nervous walking back from the metro at night.

The bar/disco looked nice, but was dead both nights I was there. Not much atmosphere in this place for someone travelling alone.

So if you come, cover up from head to toe at night, and make sure you get one of the top bunks!

I have stayed in a couple hostels around Europe but this one was the worse. Staff unfriendly, horrible bedding, location less than average.
