“Pleasant well located hotel in latin quarter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

We stayed six nights last week at this hotel in room 38 and one night on return in room 48, both twin bedded, with ample room around the beds, a smALL clothes closet, updated bathroom with shower (you need to stand facing the the wall to avoid spraying water on the floor as there is no glass shield), tv, small desk with lamp, and firm beds--ask for a second pillow as the pillows are dead.. Rooms are fairly well lit. The hotel is quiet-we did not experience any noise. Hotel personnel were all very helpful with directions and suggestions. We stored some luggage after our 6 nite stay. Free internet in the lobby and free wi-fi, total 24 hrs, in the room. Rooms are very clean, hotel is well manged, and there is a breakfeast for 9.8 euros which we skipped in favor of a c roissant and coffee and or yogurt elsewhere or on our own.

There is a supermarket on R MOuffetard about 300 feet distant & , several nearby pastry shops,

Metro Censier Daubento is 2 bloks away and bus 27 which goes to the louvre, chatelet/marais, place st michel is on the corner-also goes to gare st lazare for giverny and bayeux and to opera for the roissy bus connection to cdg.
Nearby Cave Au Bourgogne restaurant has well prepared plats-try the salad complet, a meal in itself, and on R Mouff there is an excellent crepe place-the one with the line. Otherwise avoid the touris mentu restaurants along the st which are basically the same and so so.

Try Le Robe and Le Palais in the Marais for a nice lunch with wine-42 E for 2/ or D and Cafe Musee, recommended by Michelin, near the Picasso musuem-rez helpful.
And if you are a musuem goer get the mus pass at the airport and vavoid the olines elsewhere. Contrary to the guidebooks, sncf boutiques do not sell the mus pass.

For 95e in a central clean hotel with a decent room-this is a great value.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the garden and not the sgtreet

“Great, affordable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

We stayed here one night in September and were totally pleased with the facility and location. We had originally booked for three nights, but travel plans changed and we only needed one. We had to fax the credit card number for guarantee up front and were not able to use an online booking site. That made the reservation process more cumbersome, but we were able to change our reservation and follow up via email. We paid 85 euro, that was a bargain for Paris. The hotel is a couple of blocks from a metro stop and just two blocks from Rue Mouffetard. What a great afternoon we had wandering the street with the locals, visiting vendors for fruit, wine, baked goods and other items. This hotel is located in a residential and commercial area. There are many stores and restaurants within close walking distance, but the main tourist attractions would require subway or taxi.

The room was a good size for Paris and although the bathroom was 'tight' on space, it worked well. We had a shower with shower door, so didn't have the 'wetness' issue other reviewers mentioned. The elevator stops between floors on every other floor, so you have to walk up or down a half flight of steps to get to your room. It's not far, but carrying much luggage could be an issue for some. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but walked a half block up the street and ate at a corner restaurant.

Reception staff that we met both spoke English and were very helpful. We were able to leave luggage after checkout so we could dine and walk unencumbered. We would definitely stay there again.

“Good price, reasonable facilities and simply horrible desk staff.”

We stayed at this Hotel for two nights in early September but I didn't want to write this review until I had cancelled the credit card I had used, basically don't trust them. The hotel is reasonably price, in an okay location and near a parking garage. The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff polite. But the desk staff.... Oh good lord it was like someone called central casting and sent over the stereotypical arrogant SOBs. There were two desk clerks working during our stay, the one is his 30s was bearable but the one in his 50s, it was as if he was channeling Peter Sellers Inspector Clouseau. At oone point another guest from Canada told him she had lost her passport and what should she do and he just shrugged.

“Good hotel for budget stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Nice hotel for a budget stay. Sort of away from the action, but close to a metro stop. We only stayed one night so I can't say much about the neighborhood, but it looked super cute. The rooms were clean, but a bit dated. The shower was difficult because there isn't a shower curtain (i.e. the bathroom gets wet when you shower), but it's do-able. The staff was friendly and answered any questions we had. They have a computer in the waiting area so you can quickly check email, check into flight, etc.

Room Tip: We had one that faced the courtyard so it was quiet at night.

“Good...a bit far from the action”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We found the hotel alright. The rooms are not as small as we thought they would be. The staff was very friendly. Most of them spoke either Engilsh or Spanish so we were able to communicate with them very well. We found it a bit far from where the touristic places are. Rue Muffetard is close to it and it is a fun area to go for a bite, but even though I liked the hotel, I think that next time we go to Paris we will go to a place closer to the center. We spent too much time riding the metro.
