“Wonderful experience”

Perfect location and excellent service! The friendly and professional staff from the front desk, concierge and room service, to the weighters at the bar and restaurant, made our stay very pleasant.
However, I should mention that we were lucky to receive an upgrade to a juniour suite - this certainly contributed to the overall very positive memories from Hotel du Louvre.

We will most certainly be back!

“Excellent stay in Paris!”

My husband and I stayed at Hotel du Louvre for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay there. We ended up with a very nice room on the top floor. Our bathroom was huge - almost the same size as our bedroom. We had a great view down the boulevard to the Opera House. The location is truly convenient - next to the Louvre, on top of the Metro, etc.
The hotel restaurant was fine. We ate there our first night at the hotel. We also had drinks in the hotel bar two nights. One of the nites there was a jazz trio that we really nice. While both the restaurant and bar were expensive, the prices were pretty much in line with other meals we had in Paris.
The hotel staff was excellent! The concierge was fabulous (we dealt with only one of the concierges, and she was exceptional). She recommended and booked dinner for us at Au Gourmand - we had an excellent meal there (review will be posted for the restauant). She also booked dinner at Gordan Ramsey's restaurant in Versailles for us. We opted to book a private car through the hotel. We loved the car service. The driver was professional and friendly and gave us plenty of information about sites we passed and Paris in general.
My husband has stayed in this hotel before. He had a smaller interior room for that stay, but was still happy. We would certainly go back to Hotel du Louvre for future trips!

“ideal hotel for our stay”

paris may be perfect for lovers, but it was the perfect trip for mom and two daughters celebrating 16th and 21st birthdays. from our incredably perfect triple room with windows that opened to view the boulevard toward the Opera, to the perfect coffee served at the best buffet breakfast in Paris, we were perfectly located to chose a direction and spend the day walking and discovering the different neighborhoods of the city. Other than the train trip to Versailles, we walked everywhere and ended our evenings watching the glittering Eiffel Tower for a few minutes before walking past the Louvre Pyramid toward our hotel. It was truly a special trip. I was unable to book a room here when visiting Paris last spring, and really did miss the location and the breakfast. I look forward to returning to the Hotel du Louvre on a future trip.

Room Tip: the room overlooking the Metro station with a boulevard view to the Opera was wonderful.

“Great Location-Good Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The Hotel is located near THE Louvre. All shopping areas and museums are in walking distance. The hotel has a known status in Paris and mostly visited by tourists.
Check in went very smooth and very kind.
I have been advised by friends to have a room overlooking the 'Louvre des Antiquaires'. This side of the hotel is less noisy as the hotel is located in a busy area with lots of traffic. Another option would be to ask for a room at floor 4 minimum.
The rooms are very 'French' and all comfort is available. Although the bathroom looked quite standard and doesn't match the ambiance of the room.
Turndown service is ok, but they forgot to check the bathroom.
Staff in the corridor is very kind and greets every guest who passes.
The (female)concierge on the other hand was not the kindest person in the Hotel and i never have been greeted by her.
The breakfast is 'buffet' and all product were available. Although a personal touch is missing there.
I enjoyed my stay at The Louvre Hotel and would recommend this hotel for business and pleasure purposes.

“Old, small room with no view”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I was very disappointed with this hotel. It is true, it has an excellent location, right next to a Metro stop and within easy walking distance to the Opera, Comedie Francaise and of course the Louvre.
My husband and I were greeted by friendly staff at the front desk, however we were much more disappointed by the room that we were allocated. It was very small (even for 2 people), old and faced the internal "courtyard" of the hotel. Despite the hotel advertising that it has exceptional views of multiple attractions, both our party and another party we were travelling with had the same type of room. Additionally, there was absolutely no sound cushioning. We could hear every footstep in the hallway outside (including the maid's trolley) and of course, I am sure every person could hear what goes on inside the room too. Good luck if you want to have a romantic weekend away!
The room is so small that we could not even open the wardrobe door to its full extent, and the safe was quite inaccessible at the base of the wardrobe. The mini bar was small and had the remnants of the previous person's chocolate that they had obviously stored in the refrigerator.
The buffet breakfast was included in our stay and this was located in the restaurant. The variety was fine. I was told to find myself a seat upon arrival and had to request coffee three times before, finally at the end of my breakfast, I received it (after asking the person at the front of the restaurant).
We stayed for only 2 nights and honestly, the hotel was not full. I would have thought that they would try and at least allocate rooms in the hotel that had a better view for their guests. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel unless you are prepared to pay high prices for location only.
