My husband and I recently stayed at this charming boutique hotel in the heart of the St.
Germain district.. It is within walking distance to typical Left Bank restaurants, wonderful boutiques, and to important museums and art galleries.
The knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff are most eager to provide guidance with any sightseeing requests, restaurant suggestions, as well as shopping advice - and they are glad to make the arrangements for you..
A typical French breakfast is served in a delightful cave-like area of the Hotel. Rooms are
charming and are done in typical Philip Stark style.
There is an honor bar in an inviting and intimate lobby with a fireplace - usually graced
by a bouquet of fresh flowers.
As experienced and particular travelers, we would definitely stay at the St. Gregoire,
on any future trips to Paris.

We've tried a number of small left-bank hotels in Paris over the years but Le Saint Gregoire is definitely our favorite. We discovered it a few years ago through the recommendation of a very discerning Swiss friend, and now its where we always stay. Our last visit there was perfect as usual : a friendly greeting upon our arrival from Francois at the front desk, a charming and quiet room, yummy breakfasts, time spent reading by the fireplace in the elegant lobby, and Francois' very expert recommendations for sites, special exhibitions, and local restaurants that the average American tourist would never find. Can't wait for our next visit....

We were taken aback by the unfriendliness and arrogance of the front desk (excluding the night staff, who were friendly if unable to provide much assistance.) Making matters worse, the room had an odor, the carpets was stained, the bathroom was subpar and improperly sanitized, lacking even an enclosed shower, and it was difficult toting our heavy luggage to our rooms without assistance or a proper elevator. The breakfast was very overpriced.

I have stayed in this wonderful gem about 4 times and will always return to it!
