Just got back from a 3 night stay with my 22 year old cousin. We booked the Hotel Gramont after its stellar reviews on TA. We were not disappointed. We took the Metro from the Paris Nord train station. The location was great. There were 3 different Metro stops in the vicinity- the biggest one (OPERA) was a 4 minute walk away. We arrived around 3pm and our room was ready (room 405). We had a room with 2 twin beds. The hotel and room were both very, very clean. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff were very nice and helpful. Upon our arrival they gave us a Paris map and the code for free WIFI. That was a nice plus. Another nice plus were the fresh croissants (chocolate and regular) in the lobby. The room was small but it had everything we needed (safe, shower cap, shower gel, body lotion and a built in hair dryer (prob good for men but not so much for women). The ONLY reason this hotel did not get a 5 was because of the room noise (something a lot of people mentioned in prior reviews). Even on the 4th floor, you could hear cars go by and I even heard a woman walking with heels at 2am. We also heard the couple next door arguing and water rushing (maybe a toilet flushing). We woke up kind of late on our trip (9am) so there were times where someone was vacuuming outside our room from 8am on. There was also a small elevator which was nice. Regardless of the room noise, I would DEFINITELY come back. Thank you Hotel Gramont Paris for an amazing Paris stay!
On another note- we went to a great restaurant called Cafe National on Rue Italiens and MIchelieu- highly recommend it. It was around the corner- maybe a 4 minute walk. They had a menu in English but we were the only non-French in there and they had a fun bar scene.
Room Tip: I would say the higher, the better.

Dear guests,
Thank you very much for taking some time to write this kind review about our hotel. It was all our pleasure to welcome you both in our hotel. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us here in Paris. We are sorry that you were waken up by some noise. We have double windows in all our rooms and normally our guests tell us that it is quiet even we are so central located in Paris. But of course Paris is a big city and even in a side street there is always some traffic not possible to avoid. We try to do our best to make our guests happy in our hotel and of course it is a pleasure to read that you had a pleasant time with us. We would be of course very happy to welcome you back for your next trip to Paris and in this case we will give you a room on the higher floor which we have for slight sleeper. For the moment we wish you all the best for this year 2012.
Kind regards from cold Paris
