I see that there is only one review so far and mine does not correlate with their experience!!
Three of us stayed here in June 06 for one night. We were in a room on the top floor, and had we been staying longer and had it been hotter we would have asked to be moved. However the room itself was fine. It is definetly basic but clean as far as I could tell. The bathroom and toilet seemed brand new. We also noticed when we were leaving new beds arriving for another room, so I suspect that they are doing the hotel up.
The breakfast was fine. Continental consisting of 3 croisnats, tea/coffee/chocolate and juice.
The hotel is very near to the Gare de Lyon so if you are coming that way it is very convienient. This station was only 2 stops on the metro from Gare du Nord where we came in on the Eurostar. the hotel is not perfectly located in that it is not in the centre of things but if you dont mind a 10 minute walk it is fine. The area also seemed pretty safe to us, we were not nervous at night.
I would recommend this hotel to someone else providing they are not looking for a top class hotel.

We were moved here from another hotel who had overbooked us, so maybe we were in the wrong frame of mind, but I saw very little to recommend this hotel: very basic, feels very tired and rather dirty - there were 'bits' in my bed when I got in. People working there seemed ok, but our dealings with them were limited. Convenient for the Gare de Lyon, but there are plenty of other hotels in the area. This is more a hostel than a hotel.
