The free wifi, closeness to Gare De Lyon, and hot water were the few positives on this trip.
However, the rooms almost all face the street which amplifies all the noise. From rolling suitcases to cars, it was hard to get a decent sleep with the windows closed. Also, all the rooms are stacked next to each other so you hear everything from surrounding rooms.
When you book this hotel, they will automatically put a hold on your credit card on the night of arrival for the first night's room and tax. So, under no circumstances put your debit card or bank card because you will not have access to this money. They state it's just to ensure a valid credit card was given so they could charge for no shows. Unacceptable business practices.
The three stars this hotel has is inflated. Remember that to get these they only need to have certain amenities and the stars do not reflect accurately the true quality of the hotel and its staff. There are other hotels around the corner is also 3 stars and of much better quality...plus they have a brand standard to adhere to.
One key given per room that you have to turn in whenever you leave (much like a youth hostel), locked doors at night where you have to summon the desk clerk who is often times not at the desk, and the obligatory shower amenities (to get the 3rd star) that are embarrassingly cheap.
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, find another. If you think this is a good 3 star property, try again. There's a reason it's ranked so low on Tripadvisor. Stay away! Either save money and downgrade to a true 2 star hotel or look for a better 3-4 star and spend a few extra dollars a night.
At best, this is a 2 star hotel that polished a few rooms, installed air conditioners, and is charging 40-50 euros more a night for a product that is not worthy of such prices, yes, even for Paris.
