We found Clos des Fontaines as we were looking for somewhere other than Fontainebleau to stay, near to the Django Reinhardt festival in Samois sur Seine. Right away, Genevieve was incredibly easy to deal with. She is very knowledgeable about the area, routes, things to do, places to see and, best of all... a wonderful conversationalist and the perfect hostess. Although there are none of the otherwise ubiquitous boulangeries, patisseries, cafes in Nainville les Roches, Genevieve directed us to other small communities nearby with wonderful sites and nice shopping lanes that we would otherwise have passed over - Milly la Foret, Moret sur Loing, and Barbizon, to name a few. The B&B was lovely to come home to at the end of the day, or to spend a late morning/afternoon in the garden on one of the benches reading. Breakfasts were over the top splendid... cafe, juice, fresh picked berries, homemade yogurt, croissants, bread, homemade jams, and a charcuterie plate!! We spent four nights there and made day trips each day. Our only regret is that we didn't pass an entire day lounging in the garden with books in hand and lovely Prunelle (Genevieve's faithful dog) nearby. Thank you, Genevieve for one of the absolute highlights of our trip to France!
