“Stopover on way from the Alps to Le Havre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

We chose to stay at this Mercure because the hotel we use regularly a little further south was closed. We had been driven from St Anton in Austria so were looking for a simple comfortable stay and that's exactly what we got. The hotel was well sign posted making it fairly easy to find, the welcome was friendly and efficient and the restaurant though with a fairly limited menu served excellent food both for dinner and breakfast. All in all exactly what we were looking for and not far from the Autoroute so a place we are likely to use again.

“"One of best options for who is going to INSEAD!"”

Very close to the INSEAD campus, this hotel is probably the best option to stay. It's not very fancy, but the staff is great and it is really at a walking distance to the INSEAD School.

“Best hotel if you are visiting INSEAD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

Undoubtedly, this is the best hotel to stay in if you are visiting INSEAD. The business school campus is less than 5 minutes walk away, with the hotel being in a quiet and attractive street and the rest of the town within very easy walking distance. This was my second stay at the Mercure and it was just as pleasant and agreeable as before. The rooms are spacious; they have an inner door (as well as the main room door), making the rooms extremely quiet, there is free in-room wifi, excellent desk space, a personal safe, tea/coffee making facilities, etc.

Although other reviewers have been less complimentary, I found the hotel restaurant to be very good and had an excellent dinner there, even though it was past 10 pm when our party arrived. I thought the lobby area was calm and spacious, the staff at the front desk very agreeable and pleasant.....all in all, for a business trip everything you could need or expect at this room rate level. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel.

The area for improvement must be around the in-room breakfast offering. For a eye-watering 15 euros, you get two slices of bread, a small pot of marmalade, nice coffee (although just a small jug of it), watered down apple juice and two pieces of rather mouldy fruit! I am sure the breakfast buffet in the restaurant must be better, but it started too late in the morning for me to take advantage.

“Ok hotel - good breakfast, dated decore, medium service.”

Quite alright - no big suprises. Bar service did not impress when the bartender refused to server the 20+ beers our group ordered at the tables - we had to collect and distribute them ourselves! Food was good both for dinner and breakfast.

Good location close to insead and the chateau.
