Stayed beginning of september. Location is good, but hotell rather plain and cosy. No air con is a problem during summer. Had room facing road, but good isolation made this a non issue. Service dependant on person at front desk, but pretty good.

My husband and I spent our first two nights on Corsica at the Central and returned for our last night. We'd go back to Corsica just to visit charming Bastia and stay here. The hotel location is perfect in a lovely neighborhood and walking distance to everywhere in town or to the harbor. The hotel is a bit of a step back in time. It's not glitzy, but so comfortable and inviting with old tile floors, a big winding staircase, and high ceilings. The desk staff was so very helpful with suggestions and answers to questions as we began our exploration of Corsica. They also suggested and made reservations at two memorable and delicious restaurants. Breakfast in either the inside room or outside small courtyard was very nice and served by two delightfully friendly French speaking only women, who cheerfully brought a new pitcher of milk when my husband thought he knew the difference between the French words for hot and cold, but didn't. The Hotel Central was a definite highlight to our 8 days on Corsica.

Small, friendly, slightly old-fashioned, not too expensive, right in the centre (near Place Saint Nicolas), it was exactly what I was looking for. Decent breakfast (costs extra, but you can go and have breakfast in the square if you want), comfortable and quiet. The only possible problem is that you need to get up some stairs to get to the front desk, so it may not be for people with mobility problems. Otherwise ideal.

Great little boutique hotel with lots of character very close to the central square of Bastia (St Nicolas). I had room 108. It does get hot in summer, but there's a celing fan so that wasn't a major problem. Breakfast was an extra €8 but really worth it (great coffee, basket of bread & assorted jams as well as fruit and juice). People at reception were very friendly and helpful, but a bit hard to communicate in english. Nice website too. I'd definitely stay there again!
