“Very comfortable and good amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

I stayed two nights in this hotel in October 2011. I hightlight the size of the room, the bed, the bathroom installation and the cleanliness. There is free wifi in the room and a kettle to boil water for tea or coffee. Regarding parking, the hotel offers private parking with charge, but in low season it is also possible to park in the street. Personel was kind and helpful all the time. It is located in a nice residential area uphill, at walking distance from the center of Bastia and the harbor. The train station is in the way. There is a bus shuttle from the airport to the center of Bastia. The hotel is about 10 mins walk uphill or it is possible to take a bus or taxi for a short ride to the hotel from the bus stop.

“Good hotel in Bastia but remember ... it's at the top of a hill”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

My mate John and I stayed at this hotel in September and were very pleased with the room and service provided. Front desk was multi-lingual, friendly and obliging. They booked local restaurants for us and ordered taxis with very little notice. Room was v.clean & tidy. Twin beds were v.comfortable. Little or no noise so we slept well. 95 Euros for twin room with no breakfast, Lots of places (down the hill and into the town) nearby to get pastries, coffee etc.
We stayed here having come in off the ferry from Nice. Ferry Info Desk told us 20 mins walk but forgot to say that it's uphill and quite a struggle pulling a large suitcase. Car Hire are back down the hill not far from ferry terminal so we walked down the following morning, collected the car then made use of The Best Westerns underground car park until we moved on to St. Florent, Calvi, Corte, Porto Vecchio, CampoMoro and Ajaccio. Beautiful Island. Remember to visit beaches at Palombaggia. Bastia has a nice feel to it and I would have liked to spend a bit longer there. We ate at two great restaurants - Grazie Mille in Place du Marche (lady owner is a fab host.husband is head chef) and Table du Marche in same square. (Tripadvisor contributors do not rate this restaurant but we found food and service v.good). A Mandra was closed on a Monday evening. One last thing - we left a painting (in a cardboard tube) in the room and I emailed the hotel as soon as we got back to the UK and they'd not only found it but posted it to my UK address. My mate will be so pleased when I surprise him!

“Good choice if you want to be in Bastia.”

This is a decent hotel with the benefits you would associate with a chain hotel. We stayed here twice and found the rooms to be comfortable with good amenities. The lobby was a very pleasant place to sit. Our daughter could use the Internet and we made full use of the bar! The only downside is the lack of a restaurant and it is a very long, uphill walk back from town. Parking is either in their garage (around 15 Euro) or free on the street outside.

“Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2010

Easy to find location off a main artery towards port (handy if coming in from or heading out on ferries), rooms modern, bathroom with shower is very modern & functional (modular unit, great shower); service was excellent, rooms very clean & practical. Didn't have the breakfast but it looked varied & plentiful. Internet WiFi was occasionally a bit weak but overall enough to get stuff done. A bit of street noise but double windows blocked it out at night.
