“Pleasantly Surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

This small hotel was well located for sight seeing. It is in a side street and is quiet. The parking was in a locked courtyard which was perfect for us as we had bought some champagne and were worried about leaving the car on street. The entrance was grand with very helpful staff who provided both maps for sightseeing and advice on where to eat. The room was more than adequate with a huge en suite bathroom. It could do with a bit updating but the room was both clean and comfortable and very quiet. All in all the hotel surpassed expectation.

“An OK hotel, old fashioned with good service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

The hotel is located outside the city center (but not too far) in a nice and quiet neighbourhood, which is very close to some famous champagneries. The rooms and hotel kitchen and lobby could use a renovation. The service is great, with answers to all the questions about the area. Did not try the breakfast, which seemed overpriced, so we skipped it.

“Excellent atmosphere of grandure.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

Hotels with good reviews are hard to book in Reims esp. on weekends and in high season,so make sure you book in advance. Hotel Templiers ,as the name suggested Grand has very few rooms in what must have been a very old building, but nicely carpeted. Service is good,,but again there is not much to offer besause of its size.Reception speaks English well and is helpful. We did not take breakfast, but ordered coffee to our room in the morning,as we found hotels in France,if they do not have on premise restaurant, charge very high price for breakfast of very low value.

The only drawback we find of this hotel is the location. Its off walking center of town and you really need to have a car. Parking at night can easily be found within 100 meters distance.

Room Tip: There are only 4 floors.I think 2nd floor is best .Ask for front view.

“Nice hotel, good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011 via mobile

Hotel is very dated.... Maybe very very dated but some people like that. The bathroom however was great. And they have Hermes products which is nice. Location was close to the main square for dinner and shopping. There is a creepy guy working there though. He showed us to our room at about 3pm and my husband and I found him to be quite weird.

“Nice Little Gem in Reims!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

My wife and I were looking for a short break holiday and decided we would go to Reims given our passion for Champagne it only made sense to see how it was produced. My first order of business was to find a suitable hotel that was mid range and not to pricey. So off to trip adviser to sift through some prior reviews. We really like the boutique style hotels and have stayed in many of these charming little places previously. We liked the photos that we saw on trip adviser of this property and thought it was right up our alley.

I tried to get the best room in the house but it was booked at the time and I requested that if there was a cancellation to please upgrade us, well turns out there was and this was automatically done by the staff upon arrival, which was great.

Having never traveled to this part of France before we naturally plugged it into our GPS and left our home in Luxembourg and set out through Belgium which was the shortest route. Finding the hotel was easy, the GPS took us straight to it. It was located on a splendid little street that smacked of old world charm. The check in was a breeze and they even park your vehicle for you! They provided us with street maps straight away and gave us directions to everything. There were several Champagne houses nearby accessible by foot, which made it even easier for us as we did not fancy driving to much wanting to instead sample Champagne at all the tours.Be careful though, some of the Champagne Houses do not give public tours, so do some research on the houses before you travel.

The staff was very helpful in arranging all our tours via email and suggested dining for us as well which was awesome and all within walking distance of the Hotel. As most have stated in previous reviews everything is within 10 - 20 min walk. The rooms are really charming and done up in impressive design, the bathrooms were roomy and the Hermes toiletries were spot on.

We had a lovely view of the gardens in the back and it was nice and cozy and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and there was the right amount of blankets and other amenities available if required.

We enjoyed a short drink before dinner in the little bar located on the main level which is very charming. Breakfast was served in the glassed atrium which was very nice, we enjoyed the personalized service and the fancy bone china service they had set for us in the morning and the breakfast was more than adequate and well presented.

The staff was friendly, warm and very helpful, all emails were answered immediately which was very much appreciated especially the personalized service from Olivier, he was a star! We would absolutely stay here again as we were not able to see all the Champagne houses, this property is also close to the Notre Dame Cathedral both on foot and short Taxi ride! The restaurant Olivier suggested for our dinner on the first night was absolutely spot on, thanks again for an enjoyable visit to Reims!

Room Tip: Mention it in your intial email, ask about pricin!
