My wife and I were looking for a short break holiday and decided we would go to Reims given our passion for Champagne it only made sense to see how it was produced. My first order of business was to find a suitable hotel that was mid range and not to pricey. So off to trip adviser to sift through some prior reviews. We really like the boutique style hotels and have stayed in many of these charming little places previously. We liked the photos that we saw on trip adviser of this property and thought it was right up our alley.
I tried to get the best room in the house but it was booked at the time and I requested that if there was a cancellation to please upgrade us, well turns out there was and this was automatically done by the staff upon arrival, which was great.
Having never traveled to this part of France before we naturally plugged it into our GPS and left our home in Luxembourg and set out through Belgium which was the shortest route. Finding the hotel was easy, the GPS took us straight to it. It was located on a splendid little street that smacked of old world charm. The check in was a breeze and they even park your vehicle for you! They provided us with street maps straight away and gave us directions to everything. There were several Champagne houses nearby accessible by foot, which made it even easier for us as we did not fancy driving to much wanting to instead sample Champagne at all the tours.Be careful though, some of the Champagne Houses do not give public tours, so do some research on the houses before you travel.
The staff was very helpful in arranging all our tours via email and suggested dining for us as well which was awesome and all within walking distance of the Hotel. As most have stated in previous reviews everything is within 10 - 20 min walk. The rooms are really charming and done up in impressive design, the bathrooms were roomy and the Hermes toiletries were spot on.
We had a lovely view of the gardens in the back and it was nice and cozy and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and there was the right amount of blankets and other amenities available if required.
We enjoyed a short drink before dinner in the little bar located on the main level which is very charming. Breakfast was served in the glassed atrium which was very nice, we enjoyed the personalized service and the fancy bone china service they had set for us in the morning and the breakfast was more than adequate and well presented.
The staff was friendly, warm and very helpful, all emails were answered immediately which was very much appreciated especially the personalized service from Olivier, he was a star! We would absolutely stay here again as we were not able to see all the Champagne houses, this property is also close to the Notre Dame Cathedral both on foot and short Taxi ride! The restaurant Olivier suggested for our dinner on the first night was absolutely spot on, thanks again for an enjoyable visit to Reims!
Room Tip: Mention it in your intial email, ask about pricin!
