Great hotel with clean, quite large rooms, excellent aircon, OK breakfast (extra) and good staff. Nothing to complain about - a tip for nice and cheap local bars, just continue downhill and you have a nice selection of non-touristy pubs. It's a 15 min walk from the train station, not too bad at all.

This is a very good 2* hotel. We stayed for 2 nights in July; at the beginning and end of a cycling tour of the Loire valley. As we were travelling half-board I can't comment on prices. Given many of the previous negative comments I can only assume that the hotel must have upped its game or people have unrealistic expectations - this is a 2* hotel not a 4*.
Location - About 10 minute walk from the old town. Although situated on a road which is quite busy in the day there is very little noise at night. We had a second floor room overlooking the road and there was no disturbance.
Room - The rooms are small but adequate with good bathrooms. The decor in the first room needed refreshing; scuffed paintwork.
Breakfast - Excellent buffet with plenty of choice.
Restaurant - Very good food - the meal on the second night was the equal of any other meal we had.
Staff - Friendly and helpful - we had dealings with 6 or more so it was not just luck.

Well located, cheap hotel. However, not cheap enough to reflect what is a very depressing place. Staff were indifferent.

I stayed at this hotel while I was touring France. My group and I stayed at this hotel for two nights and it was the worst hotel experience i have ever encountered. Myself and two other girls where given a room that was strangly, away from all the other rooms and was off in a section that had PRIVATE written on the door. This I found strange, but it was only until i walked into the room that I was discusted. The comforter had not been washed. I could see stains of all sorts just by looking at the bed. There was no shower curtain, so water got everywhere while I was showering. There was also BLACK MOLD on the bathroom ceiling. When advising the front desk about the room problems, the lady was very rude with us. I DO NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! I and many others had a terrible experience at this hotel.
