This hotel is simply beautiful. There are two buildings, we stayed right in the Chateau so I can't comment on the other building. Our room was amazing, the windows looked over the grounds, there was a vanity table in front of one window where I sat like a princess while I finished getting ready each morning. Definitely appropriate as this hotel leans more towards the upscale end of the spectrum. The room was enormous! The decor was very charming and everything was clean clean clean! My only complaint was that, as an American, I'm still not used to no shower doors/no shower curtain in the shower room -- but whatever, I'm the American who must conform to the European ways, not the other way around as many of my cohorts unfortunately believe. Other than that, everything at this hotel is simply wonderful. The restaurant has the most amazing food, and it seems that it is a highly regarded restaurant in the area, it was full each night but not just with guests from the hotel. The gardens and grounds are beautiful, one morning I went around and took a bunch of pictures, there are manicured shrubs and a fountain. The staff were also extremely helpful.

We stayed for six nights and booked from the website. The chateau was very hard to find even with a sat nav. Level of friendliness was very poor. In the six days no member of staff ever engaged us in conversation other than say hello when we walked in and goodbye when we were leaving and what did we want for breakfast.(we do speak French) We were misled on wifi connections. Staff were very friendly to some guests but not to others. No sitting area in the chateau. all 'public' areas are dedicated to dining or function facilities. Frankly guests seem to be an inconvienence to the staff. We stayed in the Pavillion which is not a bit like it appears on website. It was dark and cold even though outside temperatures were in the high 20s. Definitely not a place to return to.

We reserved 2 rooms for the night of June 20 while touring the Loire Valley. Pictures looked wonderful on the website. The address is misleading! This place is actually located in "Joue-Les-Tours", not Tours, and hidden on a hard-to-find hill. After being lost for a couple of hours, we arrived at 9 o'clock in the evening, hungry & tired. The reception desk turned us down for the dinner service even it didn't look that busy in the dining room. Closest restaurants, as recommended by the desk, are not within the walking distance and we were too tired to venture out in a strange town. They finally sent a couple of cheese trays & bread, at the cost of 16 euros, after we "begged" them. We definitely will not return to this so-called chateau in the future!!

I stayed 2 nights recently and the hotel is quiet, because of its out of town location and double glazing on my window facing the road, and is situated in a beautiful old building, set on an established grounds. The food in the restaurant for dinner was excellent, although the breakfast was ordinary.

I cant be as glowing as previous reviewers on account of what I found to be average, bordering on unhelpful service and the very tired room I was in. On the service front, maybe it was the language barrier, but everything seemed to be an effort and on one occasion, too much trouble.

On the room front, we elected to stay in the Pavillon building, on account of the photos on the website, which I think might have been a mistake and we might have been better off in the main building. The bed was uncomfortable and the furniture was like it was from a bad second hand store. The bathroom however was clean, modernised and perfectly adequate.

The hotel rate was good and our sightseeing around Tours was excellent, it would therefore be easy to lift this hotel to excellent by any standard.
