This hotel is your basic, no-frills European hotel (more at the end). That being said, I have to say that we were very pleased with our experience. The hotel location is great - short (<10 mins) from both the gare (train station) and most points in the old city. It is also a short block from a tram stop that goes to the University and points in between. Thus, it is an excellent location for the business traveler who brings their family. (Note: we did not have a car, but traveled from Paris by train.) The room was clean and had the bonus of free wi-fi. We did not eat the breakfast there, but it included both Continental and some English/American choices and was reasonably priced (7.5E) compared to other comparable hotels. There are several patisseries with Salons de The (where you can sit and eat) nearby, so food was not an issue. For Americans, a reminder that if you are not used to traveling in Europe and staying at non-chain hotels catering to Americans, you may find the rooms/beds smaller than usual, don't expect an alarm clock, and you should bring your own washcloths (flannels) and shampoo. I will definitely consider staying here again when I next visit Orleans.
