I can't say for the rooms as we never stayed there.
We found ourselves here at the main restaurant last Friday on a day trip with France Tourisme and our lunch option unexpectedly brought us here to this particular restaurant. We paid 22 Eur/per as part of the lunch option and were expecting a decent lunch and all we were offered were this gross lunch. A choice of small simple plate of lettuce with over ripen diced tomatoes or soup for starter, extremely overcooked small piece of chicken with tasteless macaroni. Dessert was ice cream or a tasteless piece of apple tart. How can a restaurant even serve and offer this sort of lunch to visitors? I believe they don't expect anyone of us to return and didn't consider customer service and quality as their priority but simply taking full advantage from the tourist.
We were not even given the choice of ordering from the menu. After the meal, we read through the menu prices advertised on the front of the restaurant entrance and we were aghast by what we had paid. This bad lunch experience has literally destroyed the entire day for us and Chateau Chenonceau being the first of the day didn't help either.
I would recommend finding a better restaurant in the village as there are many other options and better nearby restaurants. When we booked our day trip online with France tourisme , we weren't sure of out options with lunch.
