“Charming small hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

This hotel is in the center of the small village of Chenonceaux within easy walking distance of the chateau. Although we were driving, we noticed that it is also within easy walking distance of the train station. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned; mine opened on a small courtyard shared by three rooms. The garden and pool outside the hotel were very relaxing. The owners were very helpful with suggestions for our sightseeing. Perhaps my favorite part of the stay here was the remarkable restaurant. If you stay here, by all means enjoy at least one meal in the restaurant.

“Charming hotel right beside the Chateau”

This is very old hotel. It has an excellent restauraunt. We stayed in one of their new rooms. It has a king bed, sitting area and opened onto their garden area in the rear of the hotel. There was ample storage and it was a short walk to the restaurant and the street. One drawback was that we had to go into their pub to get wifi and this limited its usefulness. The staff were very friendly and obliging. The owner spoke English.

When we ate at the restaurant, we were impressed with the menu selection and presentation. We ate out for breakfast because there was a deli and an inexpensive restaurant in the next block.

Room Tip: There was only one garden room. There was another king-eqiupped room with its own balcony overlookin...

“Lovely family feel at la Roseraie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

While traveling through France with my wife and adult daughter we chose this hotel based on the reviews and convenience to the chateau. We stayed in two rooms for three nights. The rooms were clean and comfortable, ours on the second floor overlooking the courtyard and large enough for all of to lounge in during the evening, with our daughter in a smaller room across the hall. Nice breakfast with an egg boiling machine and good selection of meat and cheese in addition to the more usual bread and pastries. We ate dinner in the restaurant two of the three nights and the food, wine, & service were very good. Sabine was a wonderful hostess with many good suggestions about touring the Loire Valley - she made us feel like part of the family.

“Quite a surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We booked this place at the last minute for one night and all that was available was a "triple room." It was amazing. It had it's own entrance in the garden upstairs and it was absolutely huge. Slightly musty but very spacious. There was a giant living room, and two bedrooms. The larger bedroom had a piano (out of tune, but still!) A very large bathroom with a great big old fashioned bathtub. The chateau is of course amazing, but there's not much to do in the town otherwise. We ate at the hotel and it was okay, very simple. If you are going to Chenanceau with another couple or children, by all means check it out.

“Wonderful family inn in Chenonceaux.”

We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights in early October 2011. I was travelling with my husband and my parents in France for 3 weeks. We stayed at La Roseraie in Chenonceaux and visited La Loire and its castles. Beautiful region! Our stay at the inn was delightful. Cozy, charming rooms and friendly service. We highly recommend dining at their restaurant, the food is delicious. Very good breakfast served as well.

We enjoyed all the castles we visited, our top 5 favourites were:
Chambord, Chenonceau, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Blois and Cheverny.

We also enjoyed visiting the city of Tours and we recommend having dinner at Leonard De Vinci in the old city. Authentic Italian cuisine made with fresh ingredients. Cozy and warm ambiance and charming staff!
