This hotel is in a great location but was pricey including 8 euros for parking in a minute parking area. The restaurant was closed and there was a lot of building work in the area. As we were there on a Saturday/ Sunday the building work caused no hassle and we had a good quiet night's sleep. Rooms were clean but jaded. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was alright although the dining room reminded us of a school dinner hall. Chartres lights at night were fantastic!

We liked it, it was homey, the staff was friendly, charming...I was there with my 2 children, it was affordable, well located. We enjoyed the breakfasts, they were a sampling of some European styles, we heard many languages spoken when we were there. The small view from our room included part of the Cathedral....it was pleasant to walk from our hotel in to the main (no cars) area of Chartres. We found the staff to be helpful, sincere and kind. It was not a "Hilton" but we didn't want that either, it was a cut above, served us well and I would be eager to go back. Traveling with children it was important to find a central location that was affordable and pleasant.

The Hotel de la Poste in Chartres is central for all the sights of this beautiful city but that is the only good thing about it! This 2 star Logis de France is tired with poky, scruffy rooms, a canteen for breakfast ( which was OK ) and laughable on site parking arrangements for which they make an extra charge. We didn't have dinner but others reported at breakfast that dinner had been dreary too. We ate at the other central Logis, Du Boeuf Coronne and would not retuen their either.
Suggest you try elsewhere.
