“Good alternative for other (much pricier) hotels in the area”

Of course, this is a hotel for motorized guests, only. Otherwise, it will take you ages to get there from the city center. The hotel is a typical quick-to-be-erected module building with external stairs leading directly to the rooms (no traditional internal floors). Indeed, the common space (the staircase area) could be cleaned more frequently; a thick layer of dust everywhere and spiderwebs do not necessarily add up to the hotel's charm...
The double room was quite all right. Not spacious, just as in all low-star and low-cost hotels, but there was some equivalent of a wardrobe (a place to hang your clothes) and even a small writing desk.
The room was equipped with a WC and shower (the latter being only moderately comfortable to use).
All in all - no luxury, but quite good for a price below 40 euro per night.

“very simple but good and cheap. good for overnight on way thru France”

we just needed a very cheap place for the night with internet. we needed two rooms b/c of many children. don't expect anything and then you will get all the necessary basics and you will be good. the reception was very friendly and so was the lady at the breakfast service.
