Family room no.23 was dingy and small. It was clean but don't expect any frills. Parking was easy at the back of the hotel but the compound was locked when it should have been open and cost was excessive at Euro 6 per night. Frankly not sure how it got 3 stars, have stayed at better two stars.

Of the 5 hotels we stayed in out of our 9 days in France this by far the poorest. Our room was small and bathroom even tinier. It was up 2 floors without a lift although we were offered help with our bags.

However even 2 star French hotels have more quirky features and character than this. It felt as though it could have been a Best Western in the US not located in a nice French town well worth visiting.

Stay here if you are going to visit the chateau as it's good value but don't expect much.

We stayed here as we had already stayed at Des Chateaux. This was alot better, closer to town and all that Azay has to offer.

We stayed one night and were very pleased with the choice (TripAdvisor recommendation). Close to the town centre, it has off street parking and easy to find.

Our room was light and clean and the bed more comfortable than some in France! The excellent shower was very welcome and breakfast more than adequate. The restaurant was not open the night we stayed (public holiday), but there is a good choice of bars and cafes within a five minute walk.

We certainly recommend for a short stay.
