This is a nice hotel in a quiet residential area, but also on the main road that leads into town, so very easy to get to town. Our room faced the street, and we did not have a problem with road noise at all. We had a queen superior room, at a reasonable rate of €81 per night, which was nice, nothing fancy, but clean and had a comfy bed. The bathroom was fine with a tub/shower combo that was ok. The elevator, a/c, and free WiFi were all nice to have, and the hotel has their own parking lots in front of and behind the hotel.
Although the hotel does not have a restaurant, they do provide some things to eat via room service. Because we arrived a little late on our first night there, and didn't feel like going into town, this was a nice option. My husband had the beef bourguignon which he said was actually quite good. I had the ravioli and I'm sorry to say, it was quite bad. I couldn't eat it. But the cheese and bread were good, and the chocolate cake was delicious. The staff was very welcoming, helpful, and friendly.
It's a very short drive to town and we had no problem finding parking on the street. Amboise is a lovely town. The Chateau d'Amboise located right in the center of town is a must see, and I loved the chocolate crepe stand! (do you see a pattern here?!) Amboise is a great place to use as a base to visit the various chateaux in the area.
If in Amboise again, we would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.
