From the gracious greeting on the first day to my pre-departure breakfast a few days later, this hotel made an excellent base for an initial exploration of the Loire's chateau country. I found the staff very friendly and particularly helpful with dining suggestions and information on how to navigate to and from the city's old centre. My room was modern, comfortable, spotless. Free WiFi worked well.

Good, average hotel. Location appr. 20 minutes walk from center of Amboise. Very quiet, and a good night sleep. Breakfast very tasty, good coffee.

When my wife and I booked this hotel online, ahead of our departure for a vacation in France, we didn't really know what to expect. We hoped that it would be standard Best Western quality.
It was much more.
Located just a short drive from the city center, the hotel offers a quite and very clean environment. The reception area is spotless and the rooms are well appointed. Parking is available on the premises and the garden area at the back of the hotel is great for picnic or just for relaxing while enjoying a glass of wine. The location allows for easy access to the city center or for a quick gateway to our favorite shopping store (E.Leclerc Hyperstores found throughout France) and the incredibly handsome castles scattered all over the Loire Valley.
If you are in the area for business or pleasure, do yourself a favor by not missing a stay at the Le Vinci in Amboise.

My partner and I (both in our mid 20s) have just returned from a four-night stay in this hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Stephanie whose restaurant tips were spot on.
We ate out every night (there is not restaurant at the hotel, although there is room service food - but as we did not have this I can't comment on its quality) and can particularly recommend The Lion D'or if you like something a little bit fancy occasionally. It doesn't look much from the outside but inside there is a massive 'ballroom' type restaurant and the food is amazing. Go for the 20 euro for three courses menu, as a la carte is quite pricey. Le Amboiseree near to the Chateau Royal Amboise in the centre of town is also good - four courses for 24 euros! - and is a good authenic French experience.
It is true that the walk down into town is a little bit of a trek and I admit we did drive down each evening to eat - but only from pure laziness. We did the walk once and it is perfectly fine, only taking around 15 to 20 minutes each way - I imagine in the summer it would be lovely. However, because of this the hotel only gets four stars rather than five.
That being said, the hotel is a great location to explore the Loire Valley from by car, being bang in the middle - you can get to important wine producing town of Vouvray in ten minutes and the main Touraine town of Tours in about 20. The beautiful Chateaux Chenonceau (think the Disney castle!) is a similar distance away. The hotel has a good, free car park and we found there was always plenty of room.
