Stayed here for 3 nights with a 3 for 2 price deal which made it seem inexpensive. However even for the reduced price deal it still seemed very overpriced for what you get. Once again the SLH hotels have disappointed on this trip.
It is very well located in Amboise which is a beautiful town and a perfect location for exploring the chateaux east of Tours, and on top of that the rooms are nicely decorated, with comfortable beds. We had a lovely view of the Loire as well as the chateau from the bathroom, so no complaints there.
However, the service left a lot to be desired. Staff weren't helpful and pretty dismissive of many requests. As a high tier SLH member I booked with a late check out requested, on the final day we were called in the room and asked leave, and when I asked about my late check out I was offered I was told I could have 15 minutes extra only. I would understand this if the hotel was booked out but this was just after he told me that the hotel was empty and there were no other guests arriving.
Also we bought some wine at the local market, but the hotel apparently didn't have a wine opener, which I find bizarre in France.
The breakfast buffet is one of the worst I have had in Europe, horribly and possibly powdered eggs.....
Would love to come back to Amboise, but definitely not to this hotel.

Amboise is a beautiful town! I would definitely go back, but most likely not to this hotel.
It's in a good location and we had a few nights of great sleep, the main thing that lets this hotel down is the service. The rooms could use some re-styling too. I am glad my husband and i got a discounted rate, because i don't think the value for money is there. Unfortunately another SLH hotel that's a bit of a let down...

I stayed at Le Choiseul as part of a tour of the Loir Valley. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, and clean, although aspects of the room definitely needed refurbishing, especially the bed and its linens. The garden was beautiful, and the location amazing, situated directly across from the river and at the foot of a castle. However, this hotel was quite overpriced for what you got. The breakfast was fairly average. The restaurant, although expensive, was definitely worth it, amazing, one of the best meals I had on a long trip through Europe.

The service : I found it not perfect but it was friendly.

The rooms : confortable, big. I like the old fashioned style but it still need to be renewed. Becareful: air conditioning is provided by mobile units, far less efficient.

Restaurant : breakfast is great, though very french (few salty items). I loved the egg boiler to make it perfectly cooked. The dinner was different : food is simple but ok. Service is bad. Winelist is not wonderful and they made a huge mistake : we had a planned menu and they served the wine upsidedown. No senior member in the staff and nobody to acknowledge the mistake. That was a little unprofessional.
