The Novotel is in a convenient location just outside of Amboise proper with a nice view overlooking the town. Family oriented - lot's of young kids were there with their parents during our stay - but despite this, our room was very quiet. I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed at Novotel Amboise for 3 nights. Hotel is clean and in a good neighborhood. The service is bad, though. Hot water disappeared at 8 am, WiFi was not at all working in a room; we asked the cleaning crew NOT to clean our room 3 times. They CLEANED it 3 times despite our request and the sign on a door. Knocked on a door at 8 am, woke us up. Also, there was a coffee pot on a lobby and I tried to pour myself a cup of coffee only to have a clerk to run to me and yelled that the coffee is for other customers. No sign on a machine. Embarrassing.
Disappointing stay.

Everything about the hotel and room was perfect except that the heating/airconditioning controls in the room didn't work. When we arrived the room was very warm. We turned the heating control down to the lowest and opened the window. However we had to close the window whilst we went out for the evening as the room was on the ground floor. During the night the window was open again, but we had to close the curtains due to the bright lights in the car park outside. I reported the situation at the desk, but of course nothing could be done to rectify the situation late at night.

A great location, very quiet, if you don't mind having to drive into the town to eat. Rooms are great and very clean, my only issue was the temperature, far too warm! Every day we had turned the heating practically off, to return to the room and the cleaners had switched it to max again!! The bar staff are very slow and we found on numerous occasions had to hunt them out to ask for a drink, seemed far more interested in the guests who were eating there, spending more money than we were I suppose. Restaurant and especially breakfast expensive, we didn't bother we drove the 5mins into town where there are some fabulous restaurants and the local supermarket more than catered for our breakfast and lunch requirements.
