We've stayed at this hotel twice, and never found any of the bad conditions mentioned in other reviews. The rooms are very large for France, and have small equipped kitchens with fridges and stoves. You do have to be prepared to ask to switch rooms. Inner rooms are quiet, remarkably so for the city center, but those on the main street get a lot of traffic noise. I asked to be switched after one night, and they directed me to a room which had a strong tobacco odor, so I asked for another, where we stayed for 2 more nights without problems. The beds and the furnishings are a bit Spartan, but not terribly so. Again, after Paris, all the space in the room was nice. The staff is gone a lot, but my wife came down with an infection, and I had to work with someone to help line up a doctor. The man was very nice and called to arrange for a doctor to come to the hotel. As Americans, we were amazed to have a house call happen and be charged only something like $40! I do think the location is excellent, and I'd much rather stay there than at a hotel by the train station. You are right in the center of town, within walking distance of central Dijon, which is a wonderful city. The breakfast is mediocre and best skipped. Since you are in central Dijon, go to the nearest patisserie instead! You have many to choose from. I gave the hotel a 4, mostly for location and the size of the rooms, plus the convenience of a kitchen. Probably is closer to 3 star hotel than a 4. Large groups of students occasionally stay at this hotel, which we've not found to be a problem.
